I've recently tried to implement ajax into the login function in my website. It works fine with plain PHP but when I make an ajax request, the response is a block of HTML code that i have never seen in my life. Here's my code:

As "the response is a block of HTML code that i have never seen in my life" points out you're missing some important code in your php file. You're not defining a $conn to access your database and also no $email which you are using in the query (which is not beeing executed because of the missing $conn (connection string).
