Segmentation fault usint semaphores to synchronize 3 threads in C
            Asked 2021-May-22 at 13:43

I'm using semaphores to synchronize 3 threads in c in order to print a sequence like aabcaabcaabc but my code gives segmentation error in Linux.

I don't see what's wrong with my code, I have made 3 semaphores, one for each thread and syncing them in a way that thread 1 prints aa and thread 2 prints b and so on.

What can I do to make it work?

Running your code in a debugger reveals the location of the seg-fault. With backtrace line 41 or main.c (sem_init(sem1, 0, 1);).

The problem is that you are not adding fragments to your adopter. And it does not do it all by its own if we say getItemCount() returns 4.

Modify MyViewPager2.java, replace your CreateFragment method to some thing like.

you need to use javascript to define the dropdown content, check this snippet about how to clear old options and add new options related to your selection

you can either append the new options as childs to the dropdownlist

Named semaphores in C are not deleted after a signal handler call
            Asked 2019-May-30 at 15:45

So the following code is supposed to do the following:

            1. The main process creates N_READ number of children processes and then proceeds to print some lines endlessly.
            2. The children also print some lines endlessly.
            3. When the main process receives a SIGINT signal (CTRL^C from the terminal in this case) he must send a SIGTERM to all his children, wait for them to finish and then delete all the semaphores used.

The use of named semaphores is justified by the fact that this is simulation of the readers-writers problem giving priority to the readers.

However when I end the program and start it again the semaphores have not been deleted, as I get an "semaphore already exists" error and they are in fact in /dev/shm.

P.D. This is college homework and they say global variables are not permitted.

Thank you in advance and here is the code:

As @Jonathan said, the SIGTERM signal I use does terminate the process that should clean up the semaphores. By ignoring the signal in the parent process, everything works well.
