QUESTION
I've got a Rails 5.2 application using ActiveStorage and S3 but I've been having intermittent timeout issues. I'm also just a bit more comfortable with shrine from another app.
I've been trying to create a rake task to just loop through all the records with ActiveStorage attachments and reupload them as Shrine attachments, but I've been having a few issues.
I've tried to do it through URL and through tempfiles, but I'm not exactly sure of the right steps to fetch the activestorage version and to get it uploaded to S3 and saved on the record as a shrine attachment.
I've tried the rake task here, but I think the method is only available on rails 6.
Any tips or suggestions?

QUESTION
I have a dataset with various "chunks" of columns with different prefixes, but the same suffix:
ID A034 B034 C034 D034 A099 B099 A123 B123 ... 1 NA 1 NA NA NA 3 1 NA ... 2 2 NA NA NA 2 NA NA 2 ... 3 NA NA 2 NA NA 2 1 NA ...The number of columns within each "chunk" also varies. Is there any way (other than manually, which is what I have been painstakingly doing with coalesce(!!! select(., contains("XXX")))
) to automatically coalesce by chunk based on the shared suffix? That is, the result should resemble
I'm not sure how to begin doing something like this, so any suggestions would be very helpful.

, then we group by 'ID' and loop across
the other columns, apply the na.omit
to remove the NA elements (we assume that there is only one non-NA per each column by group)
QUESTION
I am trying to create an app in which the user has the option to query the database by entering information into one of two entry boxes. I want to be able to use a single select statement and conditionally query the database based on what box the user enter their information into. I currently am trying to use a CASE clause, but I believe that it is running into an error when I try to include a WHERE clause in the THEN argument. Here is what I am currently working with:

QUESTION
I wish to suggest (perhaps enforce, but I am not firm on the semantics yet) a particular format for the output of a PowerShell function.
about_Format.ps1xml (versioned for PowerShell 7.1) says this: 'Beginning in PowerShell 6, the default views are defined in PowerShell source code. The Format.ps1xml files from PowerShell 5.1 and earlier versions don't exist in PowerShell 6 and later versions.'. The article then goes on to explain how Format.ps1xml files can be used to change the display of objects, etc etc. This is not very explicit: 'don't exist' -ne 'cannot exist'...
This begs several questions:
- Although they 'don't exist', can Format.ps1xml files be created/used in versions of PowerShell greater than 5.1?
- Whether they can or not, is there some better practice for suggesting to PowerShell how a certain function should format returned data? Note that inherent in 'suggest' is that the pipeline nature of PowerShell's output must be preserved: the user must still be able to pipe the output of the function to Format-List or ForEach-Object etc..
For example, the Get-ADUser
cmdlet returns objects formatted by Format-List
. If I write a function called Search-ADUser
that calls Get-ADUser
internally and returns some of those objects, the output will also be formatted as a list. Piping the output to Format-Table
before returning it does not satisfy my requirements, because the output will then not be treated as separate objects in a pipeline.
Example code:

Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 18:36Although they 'don't exist', can
Format.ps1xml

Yes; in fact any third-party code must use them to define custom formatting.
- That
*.ps1xml
files are invariably needed for such definitions is unfortunate; GitHub issue #7845 asks for an in-memory, API-based alternative (which for type data already exists, via theUpdate-TypeData
cmdlet).
- That
It is only the formatting data that ships with PowerShell that is now hardcoded into the PowerShell (Core) executable, presumably for performance reasons.
is there some better practice for suggesting to PowerShell how a certain function should format returned data?
The lack of an API-based way to define formatting data requires the following approach:
Determine the full name of the .NET type(s) to which the formatting should apply.
If it is
[pscustomobject]
instances that the formatting should apply to, you need to (a) choose a unique (virtual) type name and (b) assign it to the[pscustomobject]
instances via PowerShell's ETS (Extended Type System); e.g.:For
[pscustomobject]
instances created by theSelect-Object
cmdlet:

I’d be grateful for suggestions as to how to remap letters in strings in a map-specified way.

ANSWER
Answered 2021-Mar-18 at 15:40You need to define a different surrogate posterior. In Tensorflow's Bayesian linear regression example https://colab.research.google.com/github/tensorflow/probability/blob/master/tensorflow_probability/examples/jupyter_notebooks/Probabilistic_Layers_Regression.ipynb#scrollTo=VwzbWw3_CQ2z
you have the posterior mean field as such
QUESTION
I have to formulate SQL Query to display total success and failed device processing. Suppose User selects 2 devices and runs some process. Each Process which user triggers will spawn 4 jobs (1 devices has 2 jobs to run). Since here user select 2 devices so 4 records comes in db. Now based on ParentTaskId I need to display total successfull, failed jobs with total devices.
We count a job on a device as success only when both jobs(Type 1,Type 2) are success.
Note : If jobtype 1 fails , jobtype 2 will not trigger

Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 15:47You can use two levels of aggregation -- the inner one to get the status per parent and device. For this, you can actually use min(taskStatus)
to get the status:
QUESTION
I am attempting to write a a UI test that taps on a delivered local notification after the device has been locked. I have been successful so far in tapping on a notification that was delivered on the springboard (when the device is already unlocked) but not from the lock screen. Does anyone know if this is possible?
Please note that this is different from questions such as this one, which merely hit the home button to leave the app under test and wait for the notification.
Here is the relevant portion of my test code:

Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 14:49I have similar issues, and I was able to resolve them by Adding a press lock Again. Here is the working code. I am using https://github.com/pterodactyl for Notifications. I wrote this code a couple of years back and still passing.
I do the same thing twice and able to validate notifications. Once the device is locked. You will see a black screen like it is turned off, and the second time when you will send the same code, it will turn on the device, and you can get notifications element for tests
// Lock the screen
XCUIDevice.shared.perform(NSSelectorFromString("pressLockButton"))
sleep(1)// same command second time ,it will wake the screen
XCUIDevice.shared.perform(NSSelectorFromString("pressLockButton"))
QUESTION
I have bunch of GRPC microservices and they are using self signed certs. I add authentication info to the GRPC channel which is then used to identify endpoints and provide right services.
Now I want migrate to Istio mTLS.
In phase one, I got Istio to BYPASS all GRPC connections and my services works as it is now.
In Phase two, I want to hand off TLS to Istio, but I am stuck on how to pass the authentication information to GRPC?
How do you handle auth in Istio mTLS setup?
GRPC can support other authentication mechanisms Has anyone used this to inject Istio auth info to GRPC? any other suggestions on how you implemented this in your setup
I am using go-lang just in case if this can be useful to provide any additional information.
Thanks
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-11 at 09:21One way of doing this is using grpc.WithInsecure()
, this way you don't have to add certificates to your services, since istio-proxy
containers in your pods will TLS terminate any incoming connections.
