Raspberry Pi/Raspian: Recording sound on from Bluetooth Headset via arecord not working, but also no error messages
            Asked 2019-Dec-13 at 09:14

I have a Pi 3b+ with the latest headless Stretch release. The Pis internal bluetooth is deactivated, as I need its Pins for another device that is plugged to them. Instead I am using an Edimax Wifi/Bluetooth-USB-Dongle.

On the system I manually compiled and updated bluez/bluetoothd to v5.50 and bluealsa to version 1.3.1.

When the system is booting everything looks fine in the logs. journalctl | grep blue returns:

In case anyone steps above my question in the future, here is how my problem got solved:

For bluetooth I was using an Edimax BT/WiFi-Dongle (EW-7611ULB). Edimax itself say that you need to compile the firmware for newer Linux Kernels (>v3.19). They also provide a tutorial for it here. I followed those steps and afterwards also inspected my jornal/logs. There everything looked good and as playing audio was working when using the dongle, I assumed, that the firmware was working correctly.

I really got out of ideas and already was thinking about giving pulseaudio a try, but then I used another BT-dongle that was lying arround (something from LogiLink) and instantly recording voice was possible.

Three.js Importing gltf without a background
            Asked 2019-Oct-02 at 15:10

There are 2 example scenes on Three.js (I'm using), that are teaching how to import gltf models.
Both using a RGBELoader function, which does initialize the background.

but it should be unnecessary to load the textures for the background.

The cube texture is also used for the the glTF model's environment map. So if you really want to delete it, you have to remove the following code section in webgl_loader_gltf.

How to parse web audio frequency data with d3 js
            Asked 2019-Jan-12 at 05:55

I am visualizing web audio data with d3. I continuously run the function that appends the data to d3 by using requestanimationframe. When I console log the frequency data in the recursive function call, I get the result as expected. However, when I bind the data to an svg and attempt to create elements with d3, the loop only runs twice.

I tried passing different data sets to the data binding, but each outcome only calls the function twice. For example:

Your exit selection is always empty.

You need to apply the Enter-Update-Exit Pattern.

            Install BoomBox

BoomBox includes a single build script for Linux, macOS, and Windows. This script will build and configure the Windows 10 and Cuckoo virtual machines from the ground up using Packer and Vagrant. The entire build process for BoomBox takes around 30-60 minutes.
There are revert.ps1 and revert.sh scripts that are to be used to restore a clean version of the Windows sandbox. This script will need to be run after each submission to Cuckoo to ensure a consistent detonation environment. This is a temporarily solution until there is a good way to have this done automatically after each detonation.
