QUESTION
My application is using laravel vue but not SPA,.. so im still using laravel blades to separate the pages. Every page are importing app.js. My App.js is compiled by webpack and all my vue components are compiled on that file. so the problem is the app.js getting MB size and the every page will slow to load that file. Is their way to split the code of vuejs or separate the file for every pages using webpack?
this is my webpack.js in my web application.
...ANSWER
Answered 2020-Aug-28 at 03:32As far as I know, the best you can do is that using Dynamic Imports
, laravel-mix
internally uses webpack code-splitting and it's included out of the box by the latest version of laravel-mix
.
Add this to your webpack.mix.js
file
QUESTION
I'm writing an app using Ionic 5, Angular and Cordova. I would like to get the "platform" variable used to build my application (i.e. the argument used in a command like "ionic cordova build android).
Unfortunately, all I found on the web was the Platform service (https://ionicframework.com/docs/angular/platform), useful but not quite what I needed (e.g. platform.is('android') can return true if the application runs on a web app on an android phone, on a browser on an android phone or if I click F12 on chrome...). What I need is to find the platform the application was built for.
The best way I found to achieve the result, was to add "build:before" hook in my ionic.config.json file
...ANSWER
Answered 2020-Oct-14 at 16:39I'm not entirely sure of what your goal is, but detecting the platform where the app is running is way easier than that. For example, if you want to know if the app is being executed on an Android mobile device, you could use the following condition:
QUESTION
I am an intermediate developer on React and I would like to have advice on the best practice to implement props's filtering.
Indeed, I realize that I am very limited when I want to sort these props:
- Do I have to put these props in the state and then display / sort the state
- Is there a method to display and sort a table from the props directly ?
Example :
app.js
...ANSWER
Answered 2019-Oct-08 at 07:31Your table column already has a sorter function for allowing the reordering so you don't need to store the sorted values in state.
Although you have something called dateSort: "next_3_day"
which ostensibly seems like you want to filter your data set (not just sort), which is a different question.
It looks like you want to do the following:
dataSource={this.state.dateSort === 'next_3_day' ? events.filter(x=>x.date > new Date((new Date()).getTime() + (60*60*24*3))):this.events}
[and extend for the other 3 dateSorts` options]
Personally I wouldn't store the filtered value in state, I would just create a function that filters it.
You're setting the state with dateSort
so the component will re-render and it will allow for new data to be passed from the parent component.
I'd also suggest using https://date-fns.org/
for simplified date arithmetic here.
I can't see the type of your input data but a.date.size
seems a bit suspicious to me. Does your sorting currently work with this value?
QUESTION
I don't have much experience with npm and SCSS, so I have following question:
I have one SCSS (app.scss) file in which file there are many places which I use one default color for background. My idea is to have a variable $background_color so I can easily change that color. Is it possible and if yes, how ?

QUESTION
For the first time I am using Yarn. I have installed the latest version of Laravel Boilerplate (http://laravel-boilerplate.com/) and there is used Yarn.
My need is to include the JS library DataTables (https://datatables.net/). Unfortunately I am new to Yarn and I am not sure if I am making everything right, because I get the error:
[Show/hide message details.] ReferenceError: $ is not defined
which is on the this line:
...ANSWER
Answered 2018-Oct-14 at 14:04It's not because of yarn
. Yarn is a package manager, it doesn't run any part of your application's code so cannot generate an error like yours. Yarn is just for downloading packages and manage their dependencies.
Then comes Laravel Mix
for you, which is just a wrapper around Webpack
. Webpack reads your application code, handles your require
and import
commands in your .js
files and then generates your bundles.
How to make it work:
I suppose you did run the yarn
command (without params) in your project root once when you installed Laravel Boilerplate. There should be a lot of packages inside your node_modules
directory (more than 900).
Then you did run yarn add -D datatables.net-dt
also. Now you should have a datatables.net
and a datatables.net-dt
folder inside node_modules
.
I see you've added datatables.net-dt
in your webpack.mix.js
, this is OK! You don't need any other require( 'datatables.net-dt' )( window, $ );
as said in the documentation. That one line in your webpack.mix.js
is enough! DataTable
will be inside your vendor.js
.
Now create an example table with attribute id="example"
in your index.blade.php
then add this code to the bottom of your resources\js\frontend\app.js

QUESTION
I recently updated Sails from 0.12 to 1.0.2 on my laptop and started a new project. I'm trying to connect to a MongoDB database using sails-mongo but I get the following error:
...ANSWER
Answered 2018-Jul-03 at 12:26Try to change the MongoDB service's name from mongoDb
to mongodb
in the docker-compose.yml
file.
Due to this error message: MongoError: failed to connect to server [mongodb:27017] on first connect [MongoError: getaddrinfo ENOTFOUND mongodb mongodb:27017]
, it seems to me that Sails.js 1.0.2 runs toLowerCase()
on the connection URL you have in the ./config/datastores.js
- 'mongodb://mongoDb:27017/my-app'
.
Your server
container has access to the MongoDB that is in the mongoDb
container. By running toLowerCase()
Sails.js 1.0.2 tries to connect to the MongoDB that is in the mongodb
container (the mongodb
container does not exist and that is why it does not work).
Also, do not forget to change your URL connection from mongodb://mongoDb:27017/my-app
to mongodb://mongodb:27017/my-app
.
QUESTION
When trying to run my simple Sails.JS app (with swaggerui included), I'm getting the following error:
...ANSWER
Answered 2018-Jan-05 at 16:57When using sails-swagger you also have to create a config file for swagger in the config directory of your sails application. This config file sets a pkg variable that points to the package.json file of your sails application.
The error above is basically saying that property pkg cannot be found and hence swagger will not work.
To solve this issue, first create a file called swagger.js in the config directory.
Then add the following to the swagger.js file
QUESTION
I need to concat a webpack output with other files, like pre.js + bundle.js(the webpack output file) + after.js
. I've tried the webpack concat plugin and also combining webpack with gulp, but I just can't figure out how to get the output file and pipeline it to concat task. The purpose of this is to wrap the output in a custom library.
webpack.config.js:
...ANSWER
Answered 2017-Sep-20 at 12:21You're using gulp
solely to run the webpack-dev-server
? This is not necessary: https://webpack.js.org/guides/development/#using-webpack-dev-server
Without knowing the content+purpose of pre.js
and after.js
, it's hard to give good advice. You might want to adapt the BannerPlugin to also output a footer=after.js
, or configure webpack to generate multiple targets (first dist/bundle.js
, and pre.js
+dist/bundle.js
+after.js
afterwards), or check the various ways for shimming, or combine the tree files to a new entry file via three subsequent imports (import 'pre.js'; import 'bundle.js'; import 'after.js'
). Good luck.

My bootstrap.test.js file is as follows.

Answered 2017-May-21 at 04:31For anyone who might come across the same error in the future, the reason for the error was the usage of sails-must middleware that I was using. In my policies.js file I had rules like the following.
