In React, to render items from the array, we have to loop through an array with the .map() method and return a single item from an array.

To render items in a fixed interval, we use a method called setInterval(). The setInterval method calls a function or runs some lines of code after specific intervals in React, as specified through the second parameter. For example, the below code schedules an interval to print "a,b,c" every two seconds to the screen until it is cleared. A function or block of code bound to an interval executes until the process of printing the user-given input is stopped. To stop an interval, we can use the clearInterval() method. For example, the following code shows the schedules of a new interval when the React component mounts for the first time, and after the React component unmounts, the interval is cleared. At the end of the Hook in React, we are returning a new function, which is the equivalent of the componentWillUnmount lifecycle method in a class-based React component. The method 'componentWillUnmount' will allow us to execute the React code synchronously when the component gets loaded or mounted in the DOM(i.e., Document Object Model), and this method is called during the mounting phase of the Life-cyle of React.

Here is an example of how you can render items from an array after a fixed interval in React:

Fig : Preview of the output that you will get on running this code from your IDE.

Code

In this solution we're using React library.

Instructions

Follow the steps carefully to get the output easily.

  1. Install the Node.js and React on your IDE(preferable Visual Studio Code).
  2. Create React Application using npx create-react-app foldername.
  3. cd foldername.
  4. Open the folder in IDE.
  5. Copy the code using "copy" button above and paste it in index.js file(remove the earlier code from index.js) then paste the script tag in index.html file.
  6. Import React and ReactDOM in index.js file.
  7. Open the terminal from IDE.
  8. npm start to run the file.

I hope you found this useful. I have added the link to dependent libraries, version information in the following sections.

I found this code snippet by searching for 'how to render items from an array after a fixed interval in react' in kandi. You can try any such use case!

Environment Tested

I tested this solution in the following versions. Be mindful of changes when working with other versions.

  1. The solution is created in Visual Studio Code 1.73.1.
  2. The solution is tested on node v18.12.1 and npm v8.19.2.
  3. React version-18.2.0.

Using this solution, we are able to render items from an array after a fixed interval in React with simple steps. This process also facilities an easy way to use, hassle-free method to create a hands-on working version of code which would help us to render items from an array after a fixed interval in React.
