As per the repro from my end, the above code which you have shared works as excepted and I don't see any error message which you are experiencing.

I had even tested the same code on the newly created Apache spark 3.1 runtime and it works as expected.

I would request you to create a new cluster and see if you are able to run the above code.

            I want to make a table to include mean_AML, sd_AML (standard deviation), min_AML, max_AML, mean_Control, sd_Control, min_Control, max_Control, and Fold_change (i.e, mean_AML – mean_Control) for each gene. It is fine to use built-in functions.

Can't figure out the way how I can do this. Please help.

            Thanks.

            --- UPDATE ---

Hints: split the dataset into AML data and normal data sets, and then for each gene/probeset, calculate its mean, standard derivation, min and max expression values across samples separately (using a built-in function), and further merge these statistical values for each gene into one table. Apply data.frame() and give the created table the same row names as the gene expression data table.

You can achieve this by pivoting your data, recoding in a new variable and ploting. I'm doing this example with the tidyverse collection of packages (tidyr, dplyr, ggplot2, etc).

First we load the packages and I'm creating a temporal dataset for this example. You can apply this to your own data.

Let's say I have a dataset with four columns.

            1. You don't need isOutput=true - that's only needed for referencing variables between different jobs or stages.
            2. "You cannot use the variable in the step that it is defined." - split that script into two steps: one that runs your .py file, second one that uses the newly defined variable.
