Align widget to bottom of sibling column
            Asked 2022-Apr-08 at 11:32

I'm having trouble recreating the layout in the screenshot that follows two rules:

            • The height of both Column is decided by the Column on the left, as the content (blue container) can be vary in different cases.
            • The Column on the right should the same height than the column on the left and it's children (yellow and red containers) should be aligned to the top and bottom of the column accordingly.

I've tried uninstalling node and reinstalling it again with version 16.13 but without success, on the vercel page, but unsuccessful so far. Any tips?

Also, I noticed it's a current issue on NextJS discussion page and it has to do with the new Rust-base compiler which is faster than Babel.

Deleting redundant `\author` and `\affiliation` fields in R papaja document
            Asked 2022-Jan-10 at 20:59

I'm creating an R Markdown document using the 'papaja' package and the 'apa7' LaTeX template. When used together, the latter package and template currently produce a conflict due to duplicated \author and \affiliation fields in the tex file. Earlier, a method was found to resolve this conflict that worked by adding the following LaTeX commands to the preamble (through header-includes in the YAML header):

            Answered 2022-Jan-08 at 23:41

I found a book on the Papaja package. That link will bring you to the YAML section. I think this is what you were looking for.

First, there doesn't appear to be an association for APA 7, unless you have the development version of Papaja. That being said, there is a ticket on this in their main github.

If you set the output to apa6_docx, this "and &" error won't be there. (And even if it were, you could have deleted it.) You can save it as a PDF from there. I'm not sure if this is an option for you, but I thought I would mention it.

This is what it states about subsequent authors (and much more).

Android Emulator keeps quitting when taking screenshots
            Asked 2021-Dec-04 at 02:28

I can't recall if I have ever tinkered with the settings of Android Emulator, but I've been testing my app on an Android Emulator using Android Studio, and every time I take a screenshot, it crashes.

I tried deleting, and wiping, and creating a new Emulator. None of it works. I tried also to take a screenshot without running my app, with a fresh emulator, and the same problem occurs. It just crashes whenever I try to take a picture.

            Android Studio reports this error:

Blockquote WARNING | unexpected system image feature string, emulator might not function correctly, please try updating the emulator. WARNING | cannot add library /Users/sbenati/Library/Android/sdk/emulator/qemu/darwin-x86_64/lib64/vulkan/libvulkan.dylib: failed INFO | configAndStartRenderer: setting vsync to 60 hz INFO | added library /Users/sbenati/Library/Android/sdk/emulator/lib64/vulkan/libvulkan.dylib WARNING | cannot add library /Users/sbenati/Library/Android/sdk/emulator/qemu/darwin-x86_64/lib64/vulkan/libMoltenVK.dylib: failed INFO | added library /Users/sbenati/Library/Android/sdk/emulator/lib64/vulkan/libMoltenVK.dylib INFO | Started GRPC server at 127.0.0.1:8554, security: Local INFO | Advertising in: /Users/sbenati/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems/avd/running/pid_935.ini

My machine is a Mac with 32GB of RAM and i7 CPU, so I can't imaging this an issue with system performance.

If no one has any suggestions, I will have to just reinstall everything. Thanks for the tips everyone.

            Edit:

I ran this on a new Mac mini I recently acquired, and got this really helpful message. I traced it down to a suggested solution about switching off Vulcan, but it did not work for me.

            Answered 2021-Dec-04 at 02:28

I've been having the same problem (I'm on macOS Monterey), each time I try to take a screenshot the emulator crashes.

Sadly I haven't found a direct solution to this problem, that is a solution fixing the issue in the simulator. But I have learned that it is possible to take screenshots of the app from inside Android Studio, using Logcat.

Essentially, when you're running your app, if you go to the Logcat tab, there is a screenshot option which does seem to work without crashing. I've added a link to developer.android.com which explains how to do it.

Even thought this doesn't exactly fix the problem I hope it helps!

Take a screenshot (through android studio)

            Edit:

I am happy to report that after a recent update for the emulator released by the developers, the issue no longer exists for me! The screenshot button has now started working again.

So if someone has the issue, I believe it can now be fixed by just updating your emulator to the latest version available.

This appears to be a known fact according to Github discussions.

One of the comments, which I thinks is pretty self explanatory:

React currently will batch state updates if they're triggered from within a React-based event, like a button click or input change. It will not batch updates if they're triggered outside of a React event handler, like a setTimeout().

React internally uses unstable_batchedUpdates(). You can pass in a callback function and state updates inside that will be batched. This does not happen automatically for timeouts, promises, and async functions. So they are called from outside the callback and state updates inside them are not batched.

How to obtain smooth histogram after scaling image?
            Asked 2021-Nov-09 at 10:42

I am trying to linearly scale an image so the whole greyscale range is used. This is to improve the lighting of the shot. When plotting the histogram however I don't know how to get the scaled histogram so that its smoother so it's a curve as aspired to discrete bins. Any tips or points would be much appreciated.
