To get the search suggestions while the user types in the search bar in React, the text input will contain a list of matching words with the input text, and we can control that view visibility when the user selects a word from the list.

In React, the search bar should trigger a search using the search query that the user provided, and this means we should filter the data inside the handleChange function as well. We should also keep track of the filtered data in the state. To display the suggested search result based on the user query, we can use the map() method to display the search results invokes looping over the list array and displaying the data or information for each item. To handle more than one search parameter, we can create React and hooks, together with the JavaScript events, and create a custom search element that filters a data array. The function which checks only if the query of the user matches one property title in the objects inside the array is the filter function. We can also improve the search functionality by using the logical OR operator to match the user query to other objects' properties.

Here is an example of how you can get search suggestions while typing in React:

I hope you found this useful. I have added the link to dependent libraries, version information in the following sections.

I found this code snippet by searching for 'how can i update component whenever typing in input tag in react' in kandi. You can try any such use case!

Environment Tested

I tested this solution in the following versions. Be mindful of changes when working with other versions.

  1. The solution is created in Visual Studio Code 1.73.1.
  2. The solution is tested on node v18.12.1 and npm v8.19.2.
  3. React version-18.2.0.

Using this solution, we are able to get suggestions while typing in react with simple steps. This process also facilities an easy way to use, hassle-free method to create a hands-on working version of code which would help us to get suggestions while typing in react.
