In Python, functions are data that can be passed around like other values. It means a function can be passed to another function as an argument, allowing the function being called to use the function argument to carry out its activities.

To pass a function as an argument to a function in Python, write the name of the function that we want to pass without parenthesis in the function call statement, simply what we do with variables, and accept the reference of the function as a parameter in the called function statement. We can pass information into functions as arguments, and it is specified after the name inside the parentheses. We can add as many arguments as possible and separate the data with a comma. Passing a function as an argument in another function using function handles as input arguments to other functions, called function functions. These functions evaluate mathematical expressions over a range of values. The difference between argument and parameter is nothing but the variable listed inside the parentheses in the function definition is called a parameter. In contrast, the value sent to the function when it is called is known as an argument.

Types of arguments in Python:

  • Keyword arguments.
  • Positional arguments.
  • Arbitrary arguments.
  • Arbitrary keyword arguments.

Here is an example of how to pass a function with two parameters as an argument in Python:

I found this code snippet by searching for 'How to pass function with two parameters as an argument in python' in kandi. You can try any such use case!

Environment Tested

I tested this solution in the following versions. Be mindful of changes when working with other versions.

  1. The solution is created in PyCharm 2021.3.
  2. The solution is tested on Python 3.9.7.

Using this solution, we are able to pass function with two parameters as an argument in python with simple steps. This process also facilities an easy way to use, hassle-free method to create a hands-on working version of code which would help us to pass function with two parameters as an argument in python.
