gulp-imagemin 8.0.0 and above are now ESM only. You can downgrade gulp-imagemin to 7.1.0 which is commonjs and it should work fine.

This package is now pure ESM. Please read this.

Unable to use `run` routine on complex bash command
            Asked 2022-Mar-08 at 23:47

            Got this command: cd /some/dir; /usr/local/bin/git log --diff-filter=A --follow --format=%aI -- /some/dir/file | tail -1

I want to get the output from it.

            Tried this:

            my $proc2 = run 'cd', $dirname, ';', '/usr/local/bin/git', 'log', '--diff-filter=A', '--follow', '--format=%aI', '--', $output_file, '|', 'tail', '-1', :out, :err;

            Nothing output.

            Tried this:

            my $proc2 = run , $dirname, , $output_file, <| tail -1>, :out, :err;

            Git throws an error:

fatal: --follow requires exactly one pathspec

The same git command runs fine when run directly from the command line.

I've confirmed both $dirname and $output_file are correct.

git log --help didn't shed any light on this for me. Command runs fine straight from command line.

UPDATE: So if I take off the | tail -1 bit, I get output from the command in raku (a date). I also discovered if I take the pipe out when running on the command line, the output gets piped into more. I'm not knowledgeable enough about bash and how it might interact with raku's run command to know for sure what's going on.

How would you implement a lazy "range factory" for C++20 ranges that just calls a generator function?
            Asked 2022-Feb-17 at 17:10

I like the idea of the lazy ranges you can make with std::views::iota but was surprised to see that iota is currently the only thing like it in the standard; it is the only "range factory" besides views::single and views::empty. There is not currently, for example, the equivalent of std::generate as a range factory.

I note however it is trivial to implement the semantics of generate by using a transform view on iota and just ignoring the value iota passes to transform i.e.

            Answered 2022-Feb-17 at 17:10

The reason why generate2 cannot work is that it does not model the range concept, that is, the type returned by its begin() does not model input_iterator, because input_iterator requires difference_type and value_type to exist and i++ is a valid expression.

In addition, your iterator does not satisfy sentinel_for, which means that it cannot serve as its own sentinel, because sentinel_for requires semiregular which requires default_initializable, so you also need to add default constructors for it.

You also need to rewrite bool operator!=(...) to bool operator==(...) const since operator!= does not reverse synthesize operator==. But it's easier to just use default_sentinel_t as sentinel in your case.

if you add them to iterator you will find the code will be well-formed:

%$% also called the Exposition pipe vs. %>%:

"The key difference in using %$% or %>% lies in the type of arguments of used functions."

One advantage, and as far as I can understand it, for me the only one to use %$% over %>% is the fact that we can avoid repetitive input of the dataframe name in functions that have no data as an argument.

For example the lm() has a data argument. In this case we can use both %>% and %$% interchangeable.

But in functions like the cor() which has no data argument:

            Reason of the issue

It is expected browserslist to return an entry for each version ("safari 15.2", "safari 15.3") instead of a range ("safari 15.2-15.3"). So, this is just a bug in the parsing logic of Safari browser versions which needs to be corrected and will be done soon in fixed versions of Angular 12/Angular 13. Link to details is here.

            IMPORTANT UPDATE:

This is fixed in v12.2.16 and v13.2.1, please update if you are experiencing this issue. Users on v11 shouldn't be affected. Link to details is here. If you can not/do not want to update for any reason, then one of the workarounds below can be used.

AWX all jobs stop processing and hang indefinitely -- why
            Asked 2021-Dec-21 at 14:42
            Problem

We've had a working Ansible AWX instance running on v5.0.0 for over a year, and suddenly all jobs stop working -- no output is rendered. They will start "running" but hang indefinitely without printing out any logging.

The AWX instance is running in a docker compose container setup as defined here: https://github.com/ansible/awx/blob/5.0.0/INSTALL.md#docker-compose

            Observations

Standard troubleshooting such as restarting of containers, host OS, etc. hasn't helped. No configuration changes in either environment.

Upon debugging an actual playbook command, we observe that the command to run a playbook from the UI is like the below:

            ssh-agent sh -c ssh-add /tmp/awx_11021_0fmwm5uz/artifacts/11021/ssh_key_data && rm -f /tmp/awx_11021_0fmwm5uz/artifacts/11021/ssh_key_data && ansible-playbook -vvvvv -u ubuntu --become --ask-vault-pass -i /tmp/awx_11021_0fmwm5uz/tmppo7rcdqn -e @/tmp/awx_11021_0fmwm5uz/env/extravars playbook.yml

That's broken down into three commands in sequence:

            1. ssh-agent sh -c ssh-add /tmp/awx_11021_0fmwm5uz/artifacts/11021/ssh_key_data
            2. rm -f /tmp/awx_11021_0fmwm5uz/artifacts/11021/ssh_key_data
            3. ansible-playbook -vvvvv -u ubuntu --become --ask-vault-pass -i /tmp/awx_11021_0fmwm5uz/tmppo7rcdqn -e @/tmp/awx_11021_0fmwm5uz/env/extravars playbook.yml

You can see in part 3, the -vvvvv is the debugging argument -- however, the hang is happening on command #1. Which has nothing to do with ansible or AWX specifically, but it's not going to get us much debugging info.

I tried doing an strace to see what is going on, but for reasons given below, it is pretty difficult to follow what it is actually hanging on. I can provide this output if it might help.

            Analysis

So one natural question with command #1 -- what is 'ssh_key_data'?

Well it's what we set up to be the Machine credential in AWX (an SSH key) -- it hasn't changed in a while and it works just fine when used in a direct SSH command. It's also apparently being set up by AWX as a file pipe:

            prw------- 1 root root 0 Dec 10 08:29 ssh_key_data

Which starts to explain why it could be potentially hanging (if nothing is being read in from the other side of the pipe).

Running a normal ansible-playbook from command line (and supplying the SSH key in a more normal way) works just fine, so we can still deploy, but only via CLI right now -- it's just AWX that is broken.

            Conclusions

So the question then becomes "why now"? And "how to debug"? I have checked the health of awx_postgres, and verified that indeed the Machine credential is present in an expected format (in the main_credential table). I have also verified that can use ssh-agent on the awx_task container without the use of that pipe keyfile. So it really seems to be this piped file that is the problem -- but I haven't been able to glean from any logs where the other side of the pipe (sender) is supposed to be or why they aren't sending the data.

Had the same issue starting this Friday in the same timeframe as you. Turned out that Crowdstrike (falcon sensor) Agent was the culprit. I'm guessing they pushed a definition update that is breaking or blocking fifo pipes. When we stopped the CS agent, AWX started working correctly again, with no issues. Angular display template if observable is falsey with async pipe
            Asked 2021-Dec-16 at 08:28

I have an API call that may return some data or may return something falsey if no data exists. If there is data, I want to tap out of the stream and do some side effects, but if falsey, I want no side effects to happen but still display my template code.

I am using an async pipe to get that data in the template, but if the data is falsey, it will not display.

I have seen the technique to wrap the ngIf with an object so it evaluates to truthy, but it doesn't seem the correct solution for my code.

You can always try to keep it as semantic as possible. Your approach using map is not a bad idea, it's just that you actually lose the access to your data. It's probably better to split it up in two Observables:
