QUESTION
I am using the Unit of Work patterns and want to a value back from the database to make sure it has updated the database successfully. Is there a way to do that?
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 13:25When you call SubmitChanges()
, a transaction is created.
All objects that have pending changes are ordered into a sequence of objects based on the dependencies between them. Objects whose changes depend on other objects are sequenced after their dependencies.
Immediately before any actual changes are transmitted, LINQ to SQL starts a transaction to encapsulate the series of individual commands.
Using the default conflict resolution mode (FailOnFirstConflict
), the entirety of your changes fail to save when an error is occurred because the transaction encapsulating all your changes is rolled back.
That means that if your submission succeeds, you can be sure your unit of work was completed. You do not need to get a value back to determine whether or not your changes were saved.
You could also set the conflict resolution mode to ContinueOnConflict
if you have changes that you know do not depend on each other and you want all changes to be attempted even if one or more fail.

QUESTION
I would like to display all my traces like in the examples from the moleculer-jaeger package:
But what i get is something like this: All spans you can see in this picture should be within the main trace (gateway).
Here is my moleculer.config:
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-14 at 21:33- This version already has a built-in jager tracer, see the documentation.
- In order for the events to be nested, it is necessary to transfer the context inside the actions, use
ctx.call
calls instead ofbroker.call
, so they will be nested. - To quickly receive support for the moleculer, join us in discord!
QUESTION
I have a Python Apache Beam streaming pipeline running in Dataflow. It's reading from PubSub and writing to GCS. Sometimes I get errors like "Error in _start_upload while inserting file ...", which comes from:
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-14 at 18:49In a streaming pipeline, Dataflow retries work items running into errors indefinitely.
The code itself does not need to have retry logic.

QUESTION
I have a react application (Node back end) running on Heroku (free option) connecting to a MongoDB running on Atlas (also free option). When I connect the application from my local machine to the Atlas DB all is fine and data retrieved (all 108 K records) in about 10 seconds, smaller amounts (4-500 records) of data in much less time. The same request from the application running on Heroku to the Atlas DB fails. The application running on Heroku can retrieve a small number of records (1-10) from the same collection of (108 K records), in less than a second. As soon as I try to retrieve a couple of hundred records the system fails. Below are the logs. I included the section of the logs that show a successful retrieval of 1 record and then failing on the request for about 450 records.
I have three questions:
- What is the cause of the issue?
- Is there a work around in the free option of Heroku?
- If there is no work around in the free option, what Heroku pay level will I need to get to and what steps will I need to take to get this working? I will probably upgrade in the future but want to prove all is working before going in that direction.

Answered 2021-Jun-14 at 18:09You're running out of heap memory in your node server. It might be because there's some statement that uses a lot of memory. You can try to find that or you can try to increase node memory like this.
QUESTION
i have an error that i just dont find a solution for. I created a little messenger thingy in flutter and have a problem when using a NetworkImage inside one of my chat bubbles.
When i send the image as message, it is displayed without problem in the bubble. Also when i send multiple images, it is no problem and they extend beyond the screen and i can just scroll up and down without any problems.
Though when i reopen the room screen and there are multiple images and they extend over the visible screen i get _CastError (type 'Null' is not a subtype of type 'List' in type cast) from network_image dart file. BUT this only happens after a hot restart. If i just navigate back and then reopen the room screen its also all fine, but as soon as i hot restarted once i always get the error when trying to open a room, which has images extending the visible space.
Iam still kinda new to flutter, so i know my code sucks mostly but this time i just dont even find a "dirty" way to solve it.
Flutter 2.2.0 (beta channel)
Dart 2.13.0

Edit 1: i removed a lot to make it easier to read.
Edit 2: i found it to be somehow connected to using the downloadURL from Firebase Storage. When i replace the url with just some test png url it doesnt seem to be a problem.
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-14 at 11:07Ok, i kind of found the problem. I took the Firebase servertimestamp as variable for the filename in the Firebase Storage. That of course only resulted in the filename being
FieldValue(Instance of 'MethodChannelFieldValue')
Though i dont really understand why that was a problem, but now with a normal Datetime toString timestamp it all works perfectly fine. Maybe its some special character escaping in the generated downloadURL from Firebase Storage with this kind of filename.
QUESTION
I'm trying to train some ML algorithms on some data that I collected, but I received an error for input variables with inconsistent numbers of samples.
