QuartzOS | An OS made using the Cosmos framework in C
kandi X-RAY | QuartzOS Summary
kandi X-RAY | QuartzOS Summary
QuartzOS is a C# library. QuartzOS has no bugs, it has no vulnerabilities, it has a Strong Copyleft License and it has low support. You can download it from GitHub.
QuartzOS is a command-line operating system written from scratch in C#. It is built as it's own operating system and does not run on top of an already existing operating system such as Linux or Windows NT. This is a project I am doing in my free time to learn more about operating systems and how they are built. I plan on making this into a fully functional command line operating system but it will take time and some features may have to wait due to limitations of Cosmos. QuartzOS runs on basically 2 kernels. It isn't two seperate kernels obviously but rather two kernels that both do different things and work together as one. The first kernel is Cosmos. Cosmos is a kernel written in X#, C#, and Assembly that allows creating an operating system in C#. It takes care of hardware control, I/O, filesystems, graphics, and runs the C# code. The second kernel is QuartzKernel. This kernel is made by myself instead of being from an open source project and is much more primitive and basic. It takes care of the operating systems tasks and does basic graphics and filesystem managment. It is also responsible for initalizing the filesystem and graphics on startup as well as other things.
