How do you control your publicPath property in vue.config.js
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 14:09

I understand how to control what the publicPath would be based on process.env.NODE_ENV variable. My vue.config.js is working as expected, but only for production and non-production environments. How would I control the publicPath variable when I have qa, dev, and stage environments?

            Note: I have added my .env.qa, .env.dev, and .env.stage.

Azure Data Explorer High Ingestion Latency with Streaming
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 08:34

We are using stream ingestion from Event Hubs to Azure Data Explorer. The Documentation states the following:

The streaming ingestion operation completes in under 10 seconds, and your data is immediately available for query after completion.

I am also aware of the limitations such as

Streaming ingestion performance and capacity scales with increased VM and cluster sizes. The number of concurrent ingestion requests is limited to six per core. For example, for 16 core SKUs, such as D14 and L16, the maximal supported load is 96 concurrent ingestion requests. For two core SKUs, such as D11, the maximal supported load is 12 concurrent ingestion requests.

But we are currently experiencing ingestion latency of 5 minutes (as shown on the Azure Metrics) and see that data is actually available for quering 10 minutes after ingestion.

Our Dev Environment is the cheapest SKU Dev(No SLA)_Standard_D11_v2 but given that we only ingest ~5000 Events per day (per metric "Events Received") in this environment this latency is very high and not usable in the streaming scenario where we need to have the data available < 1 minute for queries.

Is this the latency we have to expect from the Dev Environment or are the any tweaks we can apply in order to achieve lower latency also in those environments? How will latency behave with a production environment loke Standard_D12_v2? Do we have to expect those high numbers there as well or is there a fundamental difference in behavior between Dev/test and Production Environments in this concern?

            Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 08:34

Did you follow the two steps needed to enable the streaming ingestion for the specific table, i.e. enabling streaming ingestion on the cluster and on the table?

In general, this is not expected, the Dev/Test cluster should exhibit the same behavior as the production cluster with the expected limitations around the size and scale of the operations, if you test it with a few events and see the same latency it means that something is wrong.

If you did follow these steps, and it still does not work please open a support ticket.

The problem is that your document class already selects a bibliography style, which you can't change afterwards. Two workarounds:

            • use the style your document class sets by removing \bibliographystyle{IEEEannot} from your code

            • if you actually do need the other style, save olplainarticle.cls under a new name and change l.8 \ProvidesClass{olplainarticle}[06/12/2015, v1.0] to the new name, remove line 43/44 \RequirePackage{natbib} \bibliographystyle{apalike} from the new .cls file and then change \documentclass{olplainarticle} to the new name

integration of a guacamole client into a django site
            Asked 2021-Jun-14 at 17:26

            EDIT:
I understood that i have to use the api provided by the guacamole project, now the doubt is: how can i use in jango a java api like guacamole-common?

I would like to ask for help regarding the development of a guacamole client within a django site. Unfortunately, not being exactly an expert on the subject, I don't know if it is actually possible and looking on the internet I had no luck. With django it is possible to execute javascript code, so I believe there is a way. I have read the user manual on the Guacamole website, in particular the procedure explained in "Chapter 27. Writing your own Guacamole application" (http://guacamole.apache.org/doc/gug/writing-you-own-guacamole-app .html), however, I do not understand if it is a solution strictly achievable with the tools listed in the guide or if in some way it is possible to achieve the same thing in different environments. I have no obligations regarding the method or tools to use, so I am open to all solutions, even the most imaginative. Thanks in advance

It is possible. On the back-end(yellow box in the picture) you have to run guacamole itself(guacd), and a guacamole tunnel implementation. Implementations are available in different languages. The ones I know of are Java and NodeJS. If you can't find an implementation in your required language, you can create one, mapping this code 1:1 to your preferred language. After you set up the tunnel, you need to create the client application(purple box) using the guacamole front-end library, guacamole-common-js. If you dont use npm, you can use the js files as they are. Check out its documentation and the reference AngularJS implementation of the guacamole client application, created using guacamole-common-js. You can download the whole repo and search for specifics like "onclipboard". This will help you to understand how to implement your own solution. I've done all this with the guacd service and nodejs tunnel running on an ubuntu vm, the client application in react using guacamole-common-js.

            Hide/show controllers in SwaggerUI (configurable)

We would like SwaggerUI, which is being generated by Swashbuckle, to show all controllers and methods when debugging as well as on our test environment, but hide some on integration and production environments. Note that the hidden controllers/methods will be functional in all scenarios but won't be documented in SwaggerUI.

To do this I've applied the principal described here.

Django Channels error appears in separate Django project (broken pipe error)
            Asked 2021-Jun-14 at 07:35

I'm relatively new to ASGI and Django Channels, so this is probably a very basic question.

I got ASGI running thanks to Django Channels in one of my Django projects and it works fine. I then want to work on my old project, which doesn't yet use ASGI. I kill the debug server running locally on 127.0.0.1, switch environments (in an entirely new shell window) and start the debug server running for the old project:

You probably have a browser window running that is attempting websocket connections.

Since both projects share the endpoint (http://localhost:8000 or something similar), your other, unrelated projects is receiving these requests and returning a 404.

can you combine separate builds from docker?
            Asked 2021-Jun-13 at 19:47

I am using circleci to deploy an application, I deploy to both amd and arm architectures so my builds are multi-arch which I have been using docker buildx for. With the new arm support from circleci I was able to cut the time on this process down from sometimes 3 hours using quemu, to around 20 minutes by building both separately in their respective build environments (no need to use quemu when you build on the target arch). What I am running into is that when I run the buildx commands, one build will complete, push it's results to the repository and then the other completes and overwrites the previous. What I am trying to achieve is combining the built images into a single manifest to push together as if I built them at the same time. Is there a way to achieve what I am attempting without getting into direct modification of the manifest files? An example of the commands needed to achieve this would be extremely helpful!

            Thanks in advance!

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Jun-13 at 19:47

There are two options I know of.

First, you can have buildx run builds on multiple nodes, one for each platform, rather than using qemu. For that, you would use docker buildx create --append to add the additional nodes to the builder instance. The downside of this is you'll need the nodes accessible from the node running docker buildx which likely doesn't apply to ephemeral cloud build environments.

The second option is to use the experimental docker manifest command. Each builder would push a separate tag. And at the end of all those, you would use docker manifest create to build a manifest list and docker manifest push to push that to a registry. Since this is an experimental feature, you'll want to export DOCKER_CLI_EXPERIMENTAL=enabled to see it in the command line. (You can also modify ~/.docker/config.json to have an "experimental": "enabled" entry.)
