Android Studio Bumblebee Wifi pairing Issue
            Asked 2022-Mar-29 at 15:31

I have used Android Studio Bumblebee's latest function (Wifi pairing) for 2 - 3 days before it stopped working.
I am now receiving the error "This system does not meet the requirements to support Wi-Fi pairing. Please update to the latest version of "platform-tools" using the SDK manager"

I have updated everything to the latest version.

My guess is that you have an old version of platform-tools/adb installed somewhere (you can verify this by running which adb in your command prompt).

            Find the right platform-tools

You can find the pathway to the platform-tools/adb you want to use in Android Studios under Settings -> Appearance & Behavior -> System Settings -> Android SDK.

Inside of this folder should be another folder called "platform-tools".

Update your PATH You'll want to add this folder to your PATH and remove the old one.

Restart Android Studio For the changes to take effect, you'll need to restart the IDE.

File -> Invalidate Caches -> Invalidate and Restart

Another Solution If the above doesn't work, you can also uninstall and reinstall platform-tools using the sdkmanager command.

            Why is `np.sum(range(N))` very slow?
            Asked 2022-Mar-29 at 14:31

I saw a video about speed of loops in python, where it was explained that doing sum(range(N)) is much faster than manually looping through range and adding the variables together, since the former runs in C due to built-in functions being used, while in the latter the summation is done in (slow) python. I was curious what happens when adding numpy to the mix. As I expected np.sum(np.arange(N)) is the fastest, but sum(np.arange(N)) and np.sum(range(N)) are even slower than doing the naive for loop.

            Why is this?

Here's the script I used to test, some comments about the supposed cause of slowing done where I know (taken mostly from the video) and the results I got on my machine (python 3.10.0, numpy 1.21.2):

I have what I think is a standard formula, which is behaving differently depending on which Excel version I use, Excel 365 or Excel 2019

            ANSWER

            Answered 2022-Feb-15 at 15:13

Interesting post. With the problem at hand being illogical, the explaination (or rather my hypothesis due to the lack of documentation) is actually the opposite. In short: Dynamic arrays are the culprit to the difference between ms365's and previous versions of handling each condition in the AND() function.

First, even though the ms-documentation tells us that all conditions need to evaluate to TRUE, the reality of it is that there are two other important rules for us to keep in mind:

            • Text values or empty cells supplied as arguments are ignored.
            • The AND function will return #VALUE if no logical values are found or created during evaluation.

Let's assume that with the below examples, the value NY is written in cell A1. In Excel 2019 and earlier versions, you should recieve the following results:

            Formula Outcome =AND(TRUE) TRUE =AND(TRUE,A1) TRUE =AND(TRUE,"NY") #VALUE =AND(TRUE,{"NY"}) TRUE =AND({"NY"}) #VALUE

Whether it's intentional or not, in versions prior to ms365 any text value will result in an error unless it's written in an array format or pulled in through a cell-reference.

I can only expect the difference with ms365 to be explained that the latter will automatically evaluate the single text-value as an array due to the mechanics of dynamic array functionality.

Android studio - Generate signed APKs broke
            Asked 2022-Mar-15 at 13:50

I just updated my Android studio to the version 2021.1.1 Canary 12. After struggling to make it work, I had to also upgrade my Gradle and Gradle plugin to 7.0.2. Now I can compile my project and launch my app on my mobile, everything is working. But when I try to generate a Signed APK, I get a strange message after building telling me: APK(s) generated successfully for module 'android-mobile-app-XXXX.app' with 0 build variants:

Even though the build seem to be successful I cannot find the generated APK anywhere (and considering the time it takes to give me that error, I don't even think it is building anything). Now, I have been generating an APK every week for years now, so I know my way around the folders, the different build variant output folders etc... Nothing changed in my way of generating an APK. I do it via AS and follow the very standard procedure.

Can someone point to me what am I missing here? I assume there is a way to select a specific build variant when generating a signed APK, how does it works?

PS: Obviously, I am selecting my variant here during the process:

PS2: I can generate a debug APK without any issue whatsoever.

Transparent iFrame blocks mouse event when using react-scripts start
            Asked 2022-Mar-04 at 16:41

Has anyone ever come across this issue?

When using react-scripts start, everything seems ok on first load. As soon as a change is made to a file, all the mouse event seem to stop working (can't click on buttons, inputs, no tooltips etc.), even though the browser appears to update.

If I refresh the page the events work again, until a file is changed.

This isn't a problem in production as the watcher isn't involved there.

            Any ideas?

            EDIT:
I've found the problem but I'm not sure what the solution is. It appears that a iFrame is added to the DOM when the watcher reloads. It looks like it has something to do with licenses. The body within the iFrame is empty but there is some minified JS with a comment on the top line:

/*! For license information please see iframe-bundle.js.LICENSE.txt */

Does anyone know how to prevent this iFrame appearing.

Unable to find bundled Java version with flutter doctor, after updating Android studio Arctic Fox(2020.3.1) on M1 Apple Silicon
            Asked 2022-Feb-25 at 06:46

I'm facing a weird issue. Before I updated my Android Studio, everything went fine in flutter doctor. Once I've updated Android Studio, when I run the doctor, it's showing "Unable to find bundled Java version". I've already downloaded Java installer and installed it on my M1 Mac, but after I restarted, running flutter doctor still shows the same error. The weird thing is, when I uninstall the Arctic Fox version and re-install the older Android Studio version, everything goes fine again when running the doctor. How can I resolve this?
