Sulu: how to make custom entity translatable?
            Asked 2021-May-28 at 13:47

So I have my custom entity type, created it by following official tutorial:

            https://docs.sulu.io/en/2.2/book/extend-admin.html

However entity I got is not translatable like i.e. standard pages or articles. I also didn't any info on how to make it translatable. Expected behavior is just to work as those standard types. How to achieve that?

            ...

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-May-28 at 13:47

There are basically three things to do:

            1. You have to add a new Translation entity for your custom entity. So if you have an Event entity, you need an additional EventTranslation entity. See https://github.com/sulu/sulu-workshop/tree/master/src/Entity

            2. You need to tell Sulu, that your custom entity is translatable by adding the available locales to the view in your AppAdmin class, see https://github.com/sulu/sulu-workshop/blob/master/src/Admin/EventAdmin.php#L74

            3. You need to adjust your custom entity's admin controller (it will receive a locale request parameter now) to persist the localized properties to the CustomEntityTranslation instead of the CustomEntity iself, see https://github.com/sulu/sulu-workshop/blob/master/src/Controller/Admin/EventController.php

So as conclusion, Sulu is only responsible for showing the locale switcher in the upper right corner and appending the current selected locale as locale parameter to your api calls. Everything else is completely up to you, you have to implement that like in a normal symfony application

Shopware 5 - Column name not changing via snippet
            Asked 2021-May-18 at 08:55

I have created a Free text field in s_articles_attributes table and also marked it as translatable, when i am viewing items > overview and enabling that column, the column name isn't changed to what i put in snippet.

Does anybody know how can i make it translate according to my snippet. I thought it should be straightforward. or is there something extra i should be doing?

            ...

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-May-18 at 08:55

The snippets for attributes need to follow a special scheme.

            • First of all the snippet itself needs to be in the namespace backend/attribute_columns
            • Then the naming of the snippet key is important:
              • for labels: __label
              • for support texts: __supportText
              • for help texts: __helpText

So for your case the snippet key has to look like this: s_articles_attributes_warehouse_us_label. Also don't forget to create it in the right namespace.

You can find more about this in our documentation: https://developers.shopware.com/developers-guide/attribute-system/#attribute-label-translations

I'm trying to get goocanvasmm working from a C++ program. From a couple of places I combined code snippets and got the program to draw.

However, on program termination, a segfault appears. I'm not a normal C++ user, and as such, the gdb messages are somewhat cryptic to me.

Thanks to @BobMorane who tested the program and found a minor version difference between libraries. It seems that both my source package and his are labeled 2.0.6, but internally there's a minor difference, 1.90.9 and 1.90.11, which was important.

Recompiling with the 1.90.11 version solved the problem!

Checking the Changelog showed no world-shocking differences, but a series of minor compatibility updates. Re-running valgrind did show the disappearance of this message:

GtkMenu in Sub-menu level cannot raise 'active' signal in ubuntu 20.04
            Asked 2021-Apr-22 at 03:18

Recently, I upgrade my code from ubuntu 14.04 to 20.04. The UI seems works fine but the submenu with the touch panel. I press the menu and select menuitem2 and the submenu was showed, When I tap the touch screen to open the sub-menuitem, it did not response.

I wrote a code to check and found the signal 'select' was sent instead of the 'active' when I tap the touch screen. (The code works fine when using mouse click) Is anyone could help me to solve this problem? Or have any other GtkWidget could use to replace the GtkMenu?

Can't modify global integer variable with user input from a GtkSpinButton widget
            Asked 2021-Apr-15 at 17:02

I wrote a simple program using GTK and glade to allow the user to enter a number in a GtkSpinButton. Once the user hits the enter key (activate signal) the global variable should be changed to whatever the user entered in. Unfortunately that doesn't work and when I print out the global variable in the main function it simply spits out a zero. When I did this same thing with a string and a GtkEntry box it worked just fine. Here is the source code:

Apparently the maximum value of the adjustment variable in glade was set to zero and that's why the global variable was being set to zero. Once I entered a different value for the maximum value the problem went away.

            Install translatable

First off, install the NuGet packages:. Even though this is probably the standard way, we have made good experience using Paket to manage nuget packages and their dependencies.
To improve the quality of the translations or use certain features, you can annotate the properties with a few attributes:. TranslatorComment can be used on properties and enum fields and allows yo to specify a comment for the translator. You could explain the restrictions of the message (i.e. small space) or how to interpret the message. Context allows the disambiguation of identical msgids on properties and enum fields. This can be helpful if there are (usually short) messages that can be translated in different ways. A very common case are buttons like "Previous" and "Next". In some language, their translation depends on the context. In German, when navigate to the next message, you would translate it with "Nächste" (the word depends on the gender). If it is a button in a wizard, the next page would usually be translated with "Weiter". Translation can only be used on enum fields and declares the translation of a value, as there is not other way to store it. You need to have the Translatable attribute on the enum itself.
