I don't know if I understood your question, but this is what the code is doing:

            var_list is a list with two elements [100, 2025].

slice1 and slice2 are being defined as (var_list + [None]*2)[:2]. This expression adds the var_list to a new list of 2 None objects ([None] * 2 == [None, None]). The result of this expression ((var_list + [None] *2)) is the addition of these 2 lists, which is: [100, 2025, None, None]

Then the last part ([:2]) is just slicing the first 2 elements of this resulting list and assigning it to the variables. And since, in this case, the first 2 items are the var_list itself, it will assign the first element to slice1 and the second to slice2.

There are two approaches that are possible. The first is to use a suborchestrator for each job so that each suborchestrator handles just a specific job. Here is the docs for this approach https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-functions/durable/durable-functions-sub-orchestrations?tabs=csharp Example from docs seem to be alike to yours.

The other is to use ContinueWith so that each job has its own "chain"

Using std::atomic with futex system call
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 20:48

In C++20, we got the capability to sleep on atomic variables, waiting for their value to change. We do so by using the std::atomic::wait method.

Unfortunately, while wait has been standardized, wait_for and wait_until are not. Meaning that we cannot sleep on an atomic variable with a timeout.

Sleeping on an atomic variable is anyway implemented behind the scenes with WaitOnAddress on Windows and the futex system call on Linux.

Working around the above problem (no way to sleep on an atomic variable with a timeout), I could pass the memory address of an std::atomic to WaitOnAddress on Windows and it will (kinda) work with no UB, as the function gets void* as a parameter, and it's valid to cast std::atomic to void*

On Linux, it is unclear whether it's ok to mix std::atomic with futex. futex gets either a uint32_t* or a int32_t* (depending which manual you read), and casting std::atomic to u/int* is UB. On the other hand, the manual says

The uaddr argument points to the futex word. On all platforms, futexes are four-byte integers that must be aligned on a four- byte boundary. The operation to perform on the futex is specified in the futex_op argument; val is a value whose meaning and purpose depends on futex_op.

Hinting that alignas(4) std::atomic should work, and it doesn't matter which integer type is it is as long as the type has the size of 4 bytes and the alignment of 4.

Also, I have seen many places where this trick of combining atomics and futexes is implemented, including boost and TBB.

So what is the best way to sleep on an atomic variable with a timeout in a non UB way? Do we have to implement our own atomic class with OS primitives to achieve it correctly?

(Solutions like mixing atomics and condition variables exist, but sub-optimal)

            Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 20:48

You shouldn't necessarily have to implement a full custom atomic API, it should actually be safe to simply pull out a pointer to the underlying data from the atomic and pass it to the system.

Since std::atomic does not offer some equivalent of native_handle like other synchronization primitives offer, you're going to be stuck doing some implementation-specific hacks to try to get it to interface with the native API.

For the most part, it's reasonably safe to assume that first member of these types in implementations will be the same as the T type -- at least for integral values [1]. This is an assurance that will make it possible to extract out this value.

... and casting std::atomic to u/int* is UB

            This isn't actually the case.

std::atomic is guaranteed by the standard to be Standard-Layout Type. One helpful but often esoteric properties of standard layout types is that it is safe to reinterpret_cast a T to a value or reference of the first sub-object (e.g. the first member of the std::atomic).

As long as we can guarantee that the std::atomic contains only the u/int as a member (or at least, as its first member), then it's completely safe to extract out the type in this manner:

            Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 14:40

The problem is not so much that your ValueEventListener isn't getting triggered, but that you call list_fonct before that happens.

I'll include some links at the bottom to learn more about this, but for now the simple fix is to move the call to list_fonct into the onDataChange that is called one the user data is loaded:

Solving Time-constrained CVRP with two vehicle types in Google or-tools
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 12:54

I am modeling a Time-constrained CVRP. The problem is to minimize the total travel time (not including the package dropping time) subject to vehicle (delivery) capacity and total time spent (per vehicle) constraints. The package dropping time refers to an additional time to be spent at each node, and the total time spent equals to the travel time plus this additional time. I have the below model that works for a single vehicle-type case. I would like to introduce two-vehicle type concept in there, meaning that I have a set of V1 type vehicles and another set of V2 type vehicles. The only difference of the vehicle-types is the per time cost of travel. Let x denote the per time unit cost of travel by V1, and y denote the per time unit travel cost of V2. How can I design the model so that it incorporates this additional aspect?

Simply register two transits callbacks (i.e. one per vehicle type)

Then use the overload of AddDimension() to pass an array of registered transit callback index.

"Map" is also a synonym for "function" in the mathematical sense: something that sends an input to an output. You should be able to find it in any English dictionary. It can also be used as a verb for the process of transformation: "map each element to its square".

The word "map" for a geographic drawing is related, in that it also "maps" each point of the real terrain to a point on the paper map, or vice versa.

            It is not an acronym.

OpenAPI path/query parameters nested structure serialization
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 10:35

In the OpenAPI docs about parameter serialization there's a short section about how to serialize query, path, header and cookie parameters with different styles. The schema of these parameters are described as OpenAPI flavoured json schema, which allows infinite nesting of objects and arrays. I haven't found any mention about how to deal with these in the docs:

            https://swagger.io/docs/specification/serialization/

Let's assume the JSON schema provided for any of the parameters is like this:

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 10:35

            Short answer: It's undefined behavior.

Most OpenAPI serialization styles are based on RFC 6570, which provides guidance only for:

            • primitive values,
            • arrays of primitives,
            • simple non-nested objects (with primitive properties).

In case of other types of values (nested objects, objects containing arrays, nested arrays, arrays of objects) the behavior is undefined.

Similarly, OpenAPI's own deepObject style is currently defined only for simple objects but not for arrays or nested objects. Here are some related comments from the OpenAPI Specification authors/maintainers:

By the way, is there a reason we couldn't have deepObject work for arrays too? [...]

Darrel: Supporting arrays as you describe was my intent. I was supposed to find some canonical implementation to use as a guideline for the behavior, but didn't get around to it.

Ron: If we end up supporting the exploded array notation, it needs to be clear that the first index is 0 (or 1, or -1, or whatever).

            (source)

Ron: when we defined deepObject in the spec, we explicitly chose to not mention what happens when the object has several levels in it, but in our conversations we went with 'not supported'.

            (source)

There's an existing feature request to extend deepObject to support arrays and nested structures:

            ECS - communication between tasks
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 09:03

I am trying to deploy 2 containers on 2 different tasks (1 container per task), one is my frontend and the other is my backend server. I am trying to figure out how to configure the communication between them.

I saw that a load balancer in a service is a good option. However, should I configure load balancer for my front end server and another one for my backend? Meaning each time I have public-facing services and private services I need 2 load balancers?

I would like to only expose my front-end to the public internet and my backend will remain private (although I make API requests to the outside world - probably need to configure outbound route too?).

I would highly appreciate any information.

            Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 09:03

No you don't need a private LB for that. It is an option you can use but ECS has since introduced the concept of Service Discovery for back-end services. The idea is that your front end is exposed to your users via a standard LB (e.g. ALB) but services that are being called by the front end and that run behind the scene can be addressed using this service discovery mechanism (based on Route53/CloudMap).

You can see an example of this concept here. This CFN template gives you the details re how you can build this layout.

In your problem you are trying to use Sequential API to create the Model. There are Limitations to Sequential API, you can just create a layer by layer model. It can't handle multiple inputs/outputs. It can't be used for Branching also.

Below is the text from Keras official website: https://keras.io/guides/functional_api/

The functional API makes it easy to manipulate multiple inputs and outputs. This cannot be handled with the Sequential API.
