kandi X-RAY | base58 Summary

base58 is a Go library typically used in Security, Cryptography applications. base58 has no bugs, it has no vulnerabilities, it has a Permissive License and it has low support. You can download it from GitHub.

This is a Go language package implementing base58 encoding/decoding algorithms. This implementation attempts to optimize performance of encoding and decoding data to be used with other applications. There are a few existing implementations and this package takes an inspiration (and hints on optimizations) from a few of them (see Acknowledgements for details).

I want to sign a JWS (json web signature) with a private key generated through Ed25519 on a clients device. Then send this signature to my backend and verify it with the public key. To get familiar with the procedure I want to try to sign and verify a JWS in node js.
Both my private and public key are already generated and are available in base58. This is my current attempt at signing a JWT with an Ed25519 privateKey:

            Answered 2022-Feb-17 at 20:49

You need your keys in a format that Node.js recognizes. KeyObject create*Key APIs recognize and the key is supported in - for Ed25519 keys that is, assuming Node.js >= 16.0.0:

            • PEM/DER in SPKI for public keys
            • PEM/DER in PKCS8 for private keys
            • JWK for both public and private keys

Here's a snippet that uses DER.

Dogecoin Address generation - Address not valid
            Asked 2022-Feb-03 at 22:08

I'm trying to generate Dogecoin addresses. The generated addresses have the same length as valid Dogecoin addresses generated by RPC-API getnewaddress and the same length, but they do not work. They are not valid.

            Here are the steps:

            1. Public key from secp256k1
            2. Apply SHA256, then RIPEMD-160 to the result of SHA256
            3. Add 0x1E (Version for Dogecoin) at the begin of the RIPEMD-160 result
            4. Apply SHA256 twice to the encrypted pubkey for the checksum hash
            5. Add first 4 bytes of the checksum hash (8 characters) to the end of the encrypted pub key
            6. Apply BASE56

That generates a 34 characters address starting with D which looks very authentic, but none of them is valid. Why?

Thanks for providing a concrete example on this, you're very close! The encoding is absolutely the issue here -- the pubkey is correctly encoded in Python as bytes. That first byte of \x90, encoded as two hex values, is 144 in JS, and you can check that in Python with: int('90', 16) = 144.

So to verify your key, you can instead use the base58 package https://github.com/keis/base58 and do:

Streamlit share runs the app in a linux environment meaning there is no pywin32 because this is for windows.

Delete the pywin32 from the requirements file and also the pywinpty==1.1.6 for the same reason.

After deleting these requirements re-deploy your app and it will work.

            Update 2021-12-23

This issue is fixed in Create React App version 5.

Create React App does not currently support some features of ES2020 (Modern Javascript) in imported modules.

?? is the ES2020 Nullish coalescing operator and use of this in the imported Ceramic module causes the build to fail.

The issue is discussed here and seems unlikely to be fixed until the next major version of Create React App.

Two options are to use an alternative React framework such as Next.js which supports the features (example/instructions here), or to set up the React project manually.

Other possible solutions are discussed in this stack overflow question, but the accepted answer will not work when the issue occurs in an imported library.
