go-extension-tutorial | tutorial written for the 2017 GopherAcademy Advent series

go-extension-tutorial is a Go library. go-extension-tutorial has no bugs, it has no vulnerabilities and it has low support. You can download it from GitHub.

This repo was created to complement the tutorial written for the 2017 GopherAcademy Advent series. To follow allong with the tutorial, you will need a linux host as the plugins depend on systemd. You will also need to have osquery installed on the system. For macOS, the example table plugin implemented here is a spotlight table, which uses the mdmfind plugin to allow running queries to find files indexed by spotlight. To see the Twitter distributed plugin in action, first create a Twitter app and then update the environment variables in env. Once you have the right environment variables defined, use source env to add them to your shell. Run make osqueryi to start an osquery console you can run interactively for the systemd table, or the spotlight table on macOS. Run make osqueryd to run osqueryd as a daemon. This will give you acccess to the config and logger plugins.
