iplocate | auto lookup of ip location from fail2ban logs
kandi X-RAY | iplocate Summary
kandi X-RAY | iplocate Summary
iplocate is a Go library. iplocate has no bugs, it has no vulnerabilities and it has low support. You can download it from GitHub.
A small tool to gather and list location of attempted intruders caught by Fail2Ban auth protection. This app will scan the auth.log and fail2ban.log located in /var/log/ (linux/raspbian) at a given interval. Location and interval are set in the ./settings/config.json file. App will either list 10 most recent attempts and a sorted list of countries of origin - or you can list all attempts. Select by entering 1 or 2 followed by enter. 0 followed by enter to exit. App must be run using SUDO or as root due to the files it need access to demanding it. Written in Go 1.11.2 (linux/ubuntu) - intended target environment, any Debian based Linux distro really - but I suspect most Linux distros will work fine. Originally runs on my little Raspberry Pi 3B - but will be equally happy on a Cloud Virtual Machine, like a t2.micro from AWS for instance.

ANSWER
Answered 2020-Aug-06 at 08:45Simple check for the value should be enough, you check if it's been set before, and if not you assign a new value to it. Here is an example using async/await
