QUESTION
I am writing a program in python to have a user input multiple websites then request and scrape those websites for their titles and output it. However, when the program surpasses 8 websites the program crashes every time. I am not sure if it is a memory problem, but I have been looking all over and can't find any one who has had the same problem. The code is below (I added 9 lists so all you have to do is copy and paste the code to see the issue).
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 19:45To avoid the page from crashing, add the user-agent
header to the headers=
parameter in requests.get()
, otherwise, the page thinks that your a bot and will block you.

QUESTION
I am trying to produce an animated choloropleth map to detail the spread of the coronavirus through a csv file in JuypterLab. I got the map to output, but not only are the dates wrong, but the map does not animate and is a static image. I tried changing the renderer and some of the values, like in this line of code, but it still does not produce the correct result.
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-08 at 06:30The choropleth map can be specified only with px.choropleth(). The data was obtained from here and recalculated to create data in years. This is because animation in days is very slow. Also, the slider is a numeric string, so I converted it to a string and sorted it.
QUESTION
I am trying to find string composition between two words.
If the letters in kind object is present in the word object and also sequence in nature then I am terming it as POSITIVE else NEGATIVE.
Eg. kind[2] value "crnas" has all its characters present in the word "coronavirus" and also the characters are sequence in nature hence "POSITIVE"
kind[3] value "onarous" has all its characters present in the word "coronavirus" but "onarous" is not sequence in nature with "coronavirus" hence "NEGATIVE"
ISSUE :
Is there a way to speed up the for loop , when I tried for huge set of input constraint test case it takes more time to respond.
Constraints:
1<= |word|<= |Kind|<= 10^5

QUESTION
My d3js barplot has long axis labels and they are overlapping. I've been trying to rotate the labels but every time I try, the labels disappear. This is my code:

QUESTION
I have the below R code .
OBJECTIVE : I am trying to check strings present in kind object is composite of word object by iterating & comparing the character positioning of the two objects. If it is composite of the other ,it returns POSITIVE else NEGATIVE.
PROBLEM STATEMENT :
If kind object value has minimal characters in each string c('abcde','crnas','onarous','ravus') it gives me better response. If the strings present in the kind object has more string length ( 10 ^ 5) c('cdcdc.....{1LCharacters}','fffw....{1LCharacters}','efefefef..{1LCharacters}'). It takes more time to process. Is there a better way to put this in , so that compilation time can be relatively small.
Suggestions / Corrections are highly appreciated.

I've been working on a web scraper for top news sites. Beautiful Soup in python has been a great tool, letting me get full articles with very simple code. BUT
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-May-26 at 20:56For me, at least, I had to extract a javascript object containing the data with regex, then parse with json
into json object, then grab the value associated with the page html as you see it in browser, soup it and then extract the paragraphs. I removed the retries stuff; you can easily re-insert that.
QUESTION
This is my first ever question on Stack Overflow so please do tell me if anything remains unclear. :)
My issue is somewhat related to this thread. I am trying to use the YouTube API to sample videos for my thesis. I have done so succesfully with the code below; however, when I change the criterion from a query (q) to relatedToVideoId the unpacking section breaks for some reason.. It works outside of my loop, but not inside it (same story for the .get() suggestion from the other thread). Does anyone know why this might be and how I can solve it?
This is the (shortened) code I wrote which you can use to replicate the issue:
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-May-19 at 21:51Your issue stems from the fact that the property resultsPerPage
should not be used as an indicator for the size of the array items
.
The proper way to iterate the items obtained from the API is as follows (this is also the general pythonic way of doing such kind of iterations):
QUESTION
I am trying to fetch latest articles on covid from a website. I am able to retrieve the required data as follows:
The below formula fetches Title and News Source
=IMPORTXML("https://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/World+News/Asia/India/Coronavirus?type=ln","//div[@data-more]//div[@class='hl '][position()<=10]/*")
and the below formula fetches the news url
=IMPORTXML("https://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/World+News/Asia/India/Coronavirus?type=ln","//div[@data-more]//div[@class='hl '][position()<=10]/div[@class='hl__inner']/a[@class='hll']/@href")
Now the problem is that sometimes the feed gets updated so frequently that both the formulas fetch data not at the same level. So I get news url of some other in ROW1 and its title and source are in ROW2. Please correct me if I am wrong to think that this is happening because I am using 2 separate formulas instead of 1.
I would like to use one single importxml to fetch 3 columns (title, source and source url), if possible. Please also suggest me if there is some other better way to do so. Here is a screenshot of the results.
Screenshot of importxml data result
Thank you in advance :)
Here is another screenshot with urls mentioned below in order: Screenshot 2

The two separate IMPORTXML
are within {}
, separated by a ,

QUESTION
So I have found this code through W3Schools and I have changed it to my liking for my school project. Currently, it is a dropdown that when typed into removes the results that aren't spelt the same. What I'm looking to do is reverse this where they all start hidden and when the result is typed in it will show, many thanks!
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-May-13 at 00:47You basically had it, all you need to do is hide the elements by default. Because your JavaScript is referencing the li
, I had to add a style for the li
to hide it by default. Once the user begins typing, it will show. I also added a check to hide all results when the text box is empty.
