I need help debugging Webpack's Compression Plugin.
SUMMARY OF PROBLEM
- Goal is to enable asset compression and reduce my app's bundle size. Using the Brotli algorithm as the default, and gzip as a fallback for unsupported browsers.
- I expected a content-encoding field within an asset's Response Headers. Instead, they're loaded without the field. I used the Chrome dev tools' network tab to confirm this. For context, see the following snippet:

, https://github.com/expressjs/compression/issues/71 shows that Brotli support hasn't been added to Express yet.
There might be a way to just specify the header for content-encoding
manually though.

I have the following code (also pasted below), where I want to make a layout of two columns. In the first one I am putting two images, and in the second displaying some text.
In the first column, I want to have the first image with width:70%
and the second one with position:absolute
on it. The final result should be like this
As you see the second image partially located in first one in every screens above to 768px
.
I can partially locate second image on first one, but that is not dynamic, if you change screen dimensions you can see how that collapse.
But no matter how hard I try, I can not achieve this result.

I am trying to show only the first two rows of a CSS GRID.
The width of the container is unknown therefore it should be responsive.
Also the content of each box is unknown.
My current hacky solution is to define the following two rules:
- use an automatic height for the first two rows
- set the height of the next 277 rows to 0 height

I tried repeat() like this: grid-auto-rows: auto auto repeat(277, 0px)
but unfortunately it didn't set the height to 0.
Is there any clean way to repeat height 0?

I have a list of data in a visualisation and I want to make it as accessible as possible. There are two lists next to each other.
The list items has two states. Multiple rows can be active or inactive. A single row could be selected.
Selecting something in one list, will show 'related' items as active, and inactive. See the simplified example below. The user has selected "A 2", which is linked to "B 1" and "B 4", so A2 is aria-selected

as demonstrated - BUT does this not indicate that it is not interactable? The user can still click on the disabled item to then select it.

Answered 2022-Jan-14 at 23:31From a semantics and accessibility point of view, I'd consider separating out the controls from the visualization itself—at least in terms of the markup. This will let you use more semantic input elements, like , which come with their own states that assistive tech understands. And it will keep selection state (which is an input element trait) separate from highlighted state (which is a visualization display trait).
You can then tie those input elements to the visualization using the aria-controls
attribute.
To denote the state of the items in the visualization itself, instead of using ARIA roles, I would suggest just using text.

Initially, I use to see a vBoxManage
error on terminal
when running vagrant up

Today, I uninstalled VirtualBox
again (removed VirtualBox VMs
folder and moved application to trash) and reinstalled VirtualBox 6.1.3
for OS X hosts` (link here).
I then ran vagrant up
on terminal
and it successfully compiled:
After seeing the famous green teddy, I tried going to vvv.test
but, the page doesn't load. I've tried accessing URLs of sites that have been provisioned
before, but they too do not load.
I've also ran vagrant up --debug
, and nothing concerning was seen.

For anyone else having similar issues, here's what I did:
- Access the
/etc/hosts
folder - Find file called
hosts
and open it in a text editor. - Remove the IP addresses related to
vagrant
(I kept a backup of the original file just in case) - After saving
hosts
file the IP addresses removed, I ranvagrant up --provision
- I then ran
vagrant up
- Then accessed
vvv.test
- You're done!

I have a series of images that are fetched from a database, and when three or more images are added it visually shows the three columns.
When less than three images are present, because I'm using display: grid;
it is currently justified to the left of the parent container (in the code example I've just used red boxes to represent the images).
Is there anyway of having it so that when one or two images are present these are justified to the centre of the parent element. I appreciate I could use javascript to detect how many images are present and if it is less than three, add a class and change the wrapper to display: flex
, but I wondered if such a layout was possible with CSS only?
Due to the nature of the layout I do need to use CSS Grid when more than three images are present.
Note: I've commented out two of the red boxes in the HTML to show the initial issue when only one red box is present.
