How do I make a resettable RxSwift Timer?
            Asked 2020-Apr-26 at 19:36

I'm trying to build a countdown timer app. Naturally, I need an Observable sequence that gives me an element each second. The twist is that I need this sequence to respond to changes to two other sequences:

            • Paused: Observable. This models the user pressing the pause/resume button
            • Reset: Observable. This models the user pressing the reset button.

The reset button will reset the timer back to its starting value (resetState), and also pause the timer.

The user can press the reset button at any time:

            1. reset when the timer has not been started
            2. reset when the timer is running, not paused, not ended
            3. reset when the timer is paused, not ended
            4. reset when the timer has ended

Combining the answers to this question and this question, I was able to came up with a Timer class like this:

            Update

In the comments, I was asked to justify why I suggested making a test for "new code". Part of the answer was that you should never accept the first draft of your code. As any composition teacher would tell you, don't turn in your first draft, spend some time refining what you write (with pier review if you can get it.) So given that and the fact that my tests missed one of the specifications, I was going to replace my initial answer with this more refined version, but I think it is instructive to keep the original so it can be compared to the refined answer.

In the below, you will see that I have updated the tests to accommodate the new specification and refined the code.

The fact that there is a flatMap in the function implies that there are two abstractions here. So I broke that out into a separate function.

The fact that I have enums with two case implies that I could use a Bool instead and remove the switches.

Timer - Count up timer for Angular 8
            Asked 2020-Mar-08 at 13:10

I am trying to display a timer as shown below in this screenshot. To count up constantly to show how long since this entry has been made.

I couldn't find too many options for doing it in Angular. I found this solution in Angular JS. https://siddii.github.io/angular-timer/ I need the timer exactly like this. But I was not able to port it into Angular or I couldn't. So tried the other alternatives available and found these still they are all also not working.

            https://www.npmjs.com/package/ng2-simple-timer

            https://www.npmjs.com/package/ngx-timer

The closest I got to was this ngx-timer's Countup-timer. https://www.npmjs.com/package/ngx-timer the timer works fine and its able to start from a given date as per my requirement. startTimer(startDate). But it has an known issue which is still unresolved that is it applies itself to the last known index of the timer element thereby only one timer running in a whole list of timers. You can notice that in the above given screenshot itself.

            its a known bug. https://github.com/Y4SHVINE/ngx-timer-lib/issues

So can somebody help me with a solution or some tweaks to one of these solutions to make it work.

            Thanks.

Creating a stopwatch in angular with ng2-simple-timer
            Asked 2019-Sep-07 at 04:35

            G'day people,

So I am using ng2-Simple-timer with my angular 5 app. I'm not sure on how to go about recording time with angular 5 so I just chose ng2-Simple-Timer. I am trying to record time in milliseconds. There is an example on plunker. If I change the 1 second value to 0.001. I get some weird value. I thought that it was because plunker refreshes every half a second so I tested it on my machine but nah, it still didn't work.

            plunker http://embed.plnkr.co/HaTd8q/

            npm module https://www.npmjs.com/package/ng2-simple-timer#example

basically I just want to be able to record the time in milliseconds every time enter is pressed.

            Please Advise.

I'm using the Simple Timer plugin for jQuery and have two questions:

            1. I do not need the new lines in the timer. How can I show it on one line like "00:00:00" instead of like my result in the picture below?

            2. How can I get the timer to be flashing in red color when the timer is finished?

Based on examples and demos on GitHub:

To keep all of the time elements on the same line, you can float them.
To blink the timer after completion, you can use CSS animations.

How to terminate the right web worker with multiple instances of the same script
            Asked 2018-Jan-24 at 14:56

I'm using web workers to add a custom number of countdown timers in a web page. Each timer creates an instance of the timer web worker. Everything works fine... but I'd like to terminate the web worker when the timer is equal to '00:00'. The following code, when a timer expires, terminates always the last web worker displayed in the page. How to terminate the right one?

            Try to call this.close() instead.

There are two ways to stop a worker: by calling worker.terminate() from the main page or by calling self.close() inside of the worker itself.

It doesn't seem to be possible, if you take a look at the "GitHub: ng2-simple-timer-example", directly from the docs, you'll find how the author deals with multiple timers; I won't quote all the code, you can look at it yourself, but just paste here the way callbacks are handled:

Code coverage takes one parameter and by default its false. in your case you are passing --code-coverage but not passing any value so its taking by default false.
