First, allow me to define what I mean by that.
Notice that I am currently using Row-Major matrices in my math library (meaning, the basis vectors in my 4x4 matrices are laid out in rows, and the affine translation part is in the fourth row). Hopefully this helps clarify the order in which I multiply my matrices.

Answered 2022-Mar-02 at 23:15The problem is that two numbers, pitch and yaw, provide insufficient degrees of freedom to represent consistent free rotation behavior in space without any “horizon”. Two numbers can represent a look-direction vector but they cannot represent the third component of camera orientation, called roll (rotation about the “depth” axis of the screen). As a consequence, no matter how you implement the controls, you will find that in some orientations the camera rolls strangely, because the effect of trying to do the math with this information is that every frame the roll is picked/reconstructed based on the pitch and yaw.
The minimal solution to this is to add a roll component to your camera state. However, this approach (“Euler angles”) is both tricky to compute with and has numerical stability issues (“gimbal lock”).
Instead, you should represent your camera/player orientation as a quaternion, a mathematical structure that is good for representing arbitrary rotations. Quaternions are used somewhat like rotation matrices, but have fewer components; you'll multiply quaternions by quaternions to apply player input, and convert quaternions to matrices to render with.
It is very common for general purpose game engines to use quaternions for describing objects' rotations. I haven't personally written quaternion camera code (yet!) but I'm sure the internet contains many examples and longer explanations you can work from.

I need to take a picture, convert the file to an image to crop, and then convert the image back to a file to then run into a tflite model (currently just displaying an image on another screen).
As it stands I am using a simple camera app (https://flutter.dev/docs/cookbook/plugins/picture-using-camera?source=post_page---------------------------) and stacking a container on the preview screen to use as a viewfinder. I Use the rect_getter package to get the container coordinates for the copyCrop() function from the Image package.
Attempting to convert my file to an image (so the copyCrop() function can be run) and then back to a file (cropSaveFile.path) to later be used in a tflite model is resulting in an error: The following FileSystemException was thrown resolving an image codec: ��GFD�oom����������������� etc.

I have multiple cameras in my Windows 11 system and I am wondering how to get all avaiable resolutions for them. I am not intending to make a video capture, but I am willing to just get these properties.
Also, I don't care which API to use, be it DirectShow or MMF (Microsoft Media Foundation). I haven't used any of these before either.
I have found multiple resources doing that in C# (as in here), but similar suggested answers for C++ are hard to understand - some code is given, but what libraries and 'includes' used is not given (as in here)
I have also checked DirectShow samples in hope something would be there, but I didn't find anything.
So, I checked MMF as well (1, 2, 3) and docs, but all posts seem pretty outdated and no full code is given showing how to use certain functions alongside proper 'includes', as trying the code gives me unresolved symbols.
So I am kind of stuck at the moment, I can't find a solution to this.
I would appreciate any help.

You generally do care because the data might be different.
With Media Foundation, see How to Set the Video Capture Format
Call IMFMediaTypeHandler::GetMediaTypeCount to get the number of supported formats.
You might also want to have a look at Tanta: Windows Media Foundation Sample Projects and sample code there.
With DirectShow, see Webcamera supported video formats in addition to links you found; you will have to sort out includes and libraries through, among SDK samples AMCap does some one this and can be built from source without additional external libraries, from original code or from this fork adopted to most recent VS.

To do so, I downloaded the SDK from zwo's website (the Mac & Linux version), placed the ASICamera2.h file in the /usr/include
and ran the commands written in the README.txt in the lib folder of the archive.

IntroductionCurrently I am working on a project involving pointclouds generated with photogrammetry. It consists of photos combined with laser scans. The software used in making the pointcloud is Reality Capture. Besides the pointcloud export one can export "Internal/External camera parameters" providing the ability of retrieving photos that are used to make up a certain 3D point in the pointcloud. Reality Capture isn't that well documented online and I have also posted in their forum regarding camera variables, perhaps it can be of use in solving the issue at hand?
Only a few variables listed in the camera parameters file are relevant (for now) in referencing camera positioning such as filename, x,y,alt for location, heading, pitch and roll as its rotation.
Currently the generated pointcloud is loaded into the browser compatible THREE.JS viewer after which the camera parameters .csv file is loaded and for each known photo a 'PerspectiveCamera' is spawned with a green cube. An example is shown below:
The challengeAs a matter of fact you might already know what the issue might be based on the previous image (or the title of this post of course ;P) Just in case you might not have spotted it, the direction of the cameras is all wrong. Let me visualize it for you with shabby self-drawn vectors that rudimentary show in what direction it should be facing (Marked in red) and how it is currently vectored (green).
Row 37, DJI_0176.jpg is the most right camera with a red reference line row 38 is 177 etc. The last picture (Row 48 is DJI_189.jpg) and corresponds with the most left image of the clustured images (as I didn't draw the other two camera references within the image above I did not include the others).
When you copy the data below into an Excel sheet it should display correctly ^^

It's hard to see where the issue is without showing how you're using the
createCamera()
method. You could be swappingpitch

or something like that. In Three.js, heading is rotation around the Y-axis, pitch around X-axis, and roll around Z-axis.Secondly, do you know in what order the
heading, pitch, roll
measurements were taken by your sensor? That will affect the way in which you initiate yourTHREE.Euler(xRad, yRad, zRad, 'XYZ')
, since the order in which to apply rotations could also be'YZX', 'ZXY', 'XZY', 'YXZ' or 'ZYX'
.Finally, you have to think "What does
heading: 0
mean to the sensor?" It could mean different things between real-world and Three.js coordinate system. A camera with no rotation in Three.js is looking straight down towards-Z
axis, but your sensor might have it pointing towards+Z
, or+X
, etc.
I added a demo below, I think this is what you needed from the screenshots. Notice I multiplied pitch * -1
so the cameras "Look down", and added +180
to the heading so they're pointing in the right... heading.
QUESTION
Videos I shoot using an inexpensive pen camera show an incorrect date in the Date and Date modified fields. When I view the file's Properties I see a Created date that is correct.
What might be causing this? Please see the images attached below.
The .MOV file (with a correct value in the Date modified field) was shot using an inexpensive action camera. The .AVI file is the one shot by the pen camera.

Answered 2021-Sep-19 at 20:58Working with feedback provided by StarGeek in a comment to my question, I reformatted the SD card that came with the pen camera, then created the two folders and one text file (PHOTO, VIDEO, time.txt) the pen camera would normally auto-create upon inserting the SD card into the camera. That seemed to resolve the issue with the various file date fields showing incorrect dates.
In one of my comments above I also complained that the fix seemed to disable the photo function; it turns out that I had just not understood the camera's instructions clearly (the user must invoke the video mode first, then use the function button to take photos).
I'm not going to mark this answer as the accepted one for now; I want to test the pen camera out for a few days to ensure that the fix described above actually continues to work.

I have a project where I need to get events from the Hikvision camera that I've connected on my network, to my Typescript project's code.
The events in question are face detection and alarm triggered by recognized face.
The events then would go through webhook in the code and call corresponding functions to send the information to my front-end application.
I know there is an internal API (actually ISAPI) built into the camera, and I know that there are at least 2 endpoints called:
/ISAPI/Intelligent/
and
/ISAPI/Event/
There surely are lots of different endpoints under there.
However, I can't find any documentation for this API / ISAPI even from Hikvision's product support website.
There 3 PDF-manuals on the product support page and none of them mention API or endpoints.
Are there any documentation of these API endpoints for Hikvision cameras?
This question does not solve my case (I already know how to authenticate)

Answered 2021-Apr-09 at 14:31Ok, turns out you can setup a webhook on your Express server app and point the camera's http-listening towards the app's webhook endpoint.
The http-listening is done from the camera's internal software that lives at the camera's IP-address.
