MVVM WPF - How to update DataGrid bound to ObservableCollection
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 17:35
            What I'm trying to do:

I have a WPF app, linked to a SQL-server. I am using the MVVM-light package (I do actually have Prism.Core installed, but I'm not sure if I'm using it or not.... new to MVVM).

There's a DataGrid, bound to an ObservableCollection. I have been trying to implement the PropertyChangedEventHandler, but I can't seem to get it to work.

I have a Delete button bound, and I am able to remove rows, but when I re-open the form, the changes does not carry over.

I tried to change the binding-mode for the DataGrid from OneWay to TwoWay. With OneWay, the changes does not carry over when I re-open the form. With TwoWay, I get this error message when opening the child form (which contains the DataGrid):

System.InvalidOperationException: 'A TwoWay or OneWayToSource binding cannot work on the read->only property 'licenseHolders' of type 'Ridel.Hub.ViewModel.LicenseHoldersViewModel'.'

So, If I then add a set; to my public ObservableCollection licenseHolders { get; }, the program runs, but the previous problem persists, like it did when there was a OneWay mode configuration on the DataGrid.

What do I need to do to get this to work without communicating directly with the Sql-server, which would defy the whole point of using this methodology in the first place?

You are confusing topics. The VM needs InotifyPropertyChanged events, which you have but are not using, to notify the Xaml in the front-end that a VMs property has changed and to bind to the new data reference.

This is needed for Lists or ObservableCollections. Once that is done, the ObservableCollection will then send notifications on changes to the list as items are added or removed.

Because you miss the first step:

Whenever actionmodal is open you can save the index() of div which has open that modal inside data-attribute . Then , when appendaction button is clicked get the data-attribute and then use $(".steplist .input-group:eq(" + row_no + ")").. to add new data inside your input-group div.

Get location path from use Location hook inside a column renderer from react-bootstrap-table2
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 07:08
            Story

I'm creating 2 pages (Summary and Cycles pages) using react.js.

On the Summary page, there is a column named CN that every item links to the Cycles page.

Summary page has a path /route/summary/location=abc and Cycles page has a path /route/cycle/location=abc/deviceId=4410

For example, if I click the value from CN column in the first row of the table inside the Summary page, I will be redirected to the Cycles page with the path /route/cycle/location=abc/deviceId=4410.

In the Summary page, I use https://github.com/react-bootstrap-table/react-bootstrap-table2 for the table component and I use a columnRenderer function inside columns.js to render a custom item inside the table like this one:

            Question

How can I put the pathname (example "abc") to a Link component inside cnColumnRenderer function in columns.js?

            Ideal Condition I wanted:

Summary page with the path: /route/summary/location=abc

Cycles page with the path: /route/cycle/location=abc/deviceId=4410

            Actual Condition:

Error because of invalid hook call while rendering the Summary page

            My Code:

table code inside Summary page (inside Summary.js):

hint: focus on columns variable from './columns' and its implementation

            ...

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 05:17

React hooks are only valid in React functional components, not in any callbacks, loops, conditional blocks. If you need the location data in the callback it needs to be passed in.

From what I can tell it seems you need to move the columns.js code into the main component so the location values can be closed over in scope.

Where Media files (images, etc) Should Be Stored For A Websites?

            • How do big ecommerce websites manage their images for their websites?
            • Is there any Best Practices should be consider when deciding where to keep websites images?
            • I have heard to keep the images in multiple folder structure on the same server where the website is hosted so websites can render them easily and fast since they are all on same server - Is this the idea solution?
            • How do professionals or big ecommerce handle images storage and maintain website images reliability and stability?
            • Is Azure or AWS etc best place to store images for websites rendering?

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 02:52

Keeping the files in the same server comes with more risk, if your server crashes or region goes down your application stopped as well as your files not gonna render if you are using those files separately for different applications like mobile applications.

In this case, users will also face a high loading time for those media files if the users are not in the same zone as your application hosted.

The best practice to store the image/media files on some cloud storage like S3 or Azure Blob then connect it with some CDN like CloudFront or Azure CDN.

Now you can serve your media files via CDN which will act as a global caching system for your media files.
