QUESTION
I have compiled a fat jar using the shadow
plugin for gradle.
The same file works perfectly fine on both Mac and Windows, but when I try to run it on Ubuntu it says Error: Could not find or load main class blobsaver.Main
. I'm using Java 8 on all platforms.
How do I get more details on this error? Using the -verbose
option doesn't tell me anything useful.
ANSWER
Answered 2018-Sep-02 at 21:51It seems that OpenJDK does not install JavaFX by default but Oracle JDK does, so I had to install it with sudo apt-get install openjfx
.

Install blobsaver
You can use blobsaver like any standard Java library. Please include the the jar files in your classpath. You can also use any IDE and you can run and debug the blobsaver component as you would do with any other Java program. Best practice is to use a build tool that supports dependency management such as Maven or Gradle. For Maven installation, please refer maven.apache.org. For Gradle installation, please refer gradle.org .
