QUESTION
I made a button by extending JPanel and adding 2 JLabels on top of each other using the OverlayLayout. one of the JLabels is the icon which is just a font-awesome icon. The other one is the hover text. I want the background of the JPanel to be transparent, so it doesn't have a white border. I did this using this AlphaContainer method:
This is what I mean by slow hovering:
I now only added the setOpaque(false) property to the bottom half of the icons. This is what it looks like:

Answered 2018-Apr-02 at 21:45The best way to do this is probably to use a CardLayout
which is already set up for good behavior.

Install cismet-gui-commons
You can use cismet-gui-commons like any standard Java library. Please include the the jar files in your classpath. You can also use any IDE and you can run and debug the cismet-gui-commons component as you would do with any other Java program. Best practice is to use a build tool that supports dependency management such as Maven or Gradle. For Maven installation, please refer maven.apache.org. For Gradle installation, please refer gradle.org .
