Using PowerShell, How to get list of all Azure subscriptions having Azure Data factory Resource in it?
            Asked 2021-Jun-10 at 14:50

I want to retrieve the list of subscriptions having Azure Data Factory resource in it. I want to use PowerShell and get the subscription list and ADF list.

I have tried Get-AzSubscription, but it does not contain filter for resource type i.e. Microsoft.DataFactory/factories. This filter can be added to only Get-AzResource.

            1. Get-AzSubscription Module

            Answered 2021-Jun-08 at 20:33

I am not able to reproduce the issue but would suggest not including the factory in the ARM template as documented here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/data-factory/author-global-parameters#cicd

Including the factory will cause other downstream issues when using the automated publish flow for CI/CD such as removing the git configuration on the source factory, so deploying global parameters with PowerShell is the recommended approach. By not including the factory in the ARM template, this error will not occur. Feel free to continue the discussion here: https://github.com/Azure/Azure-DataFactory/issues/285

Redirect to login with AAD in Azure App Service Authentication vs Authentication (Classic)
            Asked 2021-Jun-08 at 08:10

I'm trying to set up a system where an Azure DataFactory can call an Azure function through its managed identity. Good example here: Authorising Azure Function App Http endpoint from Data Factory

However, this was using the old(er) Authentication/Authorization tool for Azure functions, which has now been renamed Authentication (Classic). Setting the system up through this is fine, I can make the call and get a response, but upgrading to Authorization causes this to break. It seems like the key thing missing is the option of "Action to take when the request is not authenticated", which I cannot seem to set with the new Authorization tool but should be set to "Login with Azure AD"

In summary, how do I set this setting with the new Authorization tool so that a MSI can make a cool to the function and authenticate with AAD.

            Image with classic

Image with new Authorization (no visible way to redirect to AAD)

In summary, how do I set this setting with the new Authorization tool so that a MSI can make a cool to the function and authenticate with AAD.

To make it work with the new Authentication, follow the steps below.

1.Edit the Authentication settings in the portal or set it when creating the app as below.

2.Edit the Identity provider, make sure the Issuer URL is https://sts.windows.net/(without /v2.0) and Allowed token audiences include the App ID URI.

For the App ID URI, you could check it in your AD App of the function app -> Expose an API, if you use the old Authentication before, maybe it is your function app URL, it does matter, just make sure Allowed token audiences include it.

3.Then in the datafactory web activity, also make sure the resource is the App ID URI.

            Then it will work fine.

Current date parameter in Azure DataFactory
            Asked 2021-Jun-07 at 02:35

I have a pipeline in an Azure DataFactory context. This pipeline has a dataset which is a metadata table and this metadata table needs to be updated regularly. I can update the table using a query in a lookup activity.

The column I need to update contains the date of the last trigger. So, I would like to ask if is there any way of getting the current date as a parameter in the pipeline. If so, I could insert the parameter in my query and update the table.

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Jun-07 at 02:35

You can do it with variable in your azure data factory pipeline.

First click the blank space and define a variable with any value as its default value.

Then add a "Set variable" activity to set the value of the variable. Set its value with @utcnow()

Then you can use the variable in your pipeline.

By the way, if you want to specify the format of utc now, you can use utcNow(''). Please refer to this document.

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Jun-01 at 07:06

Not very sure which API you download the pdf file from, you could think about these connectors in Data Factory:

            • REST connector specifically support copying data from RESTful APIs;
            • HTTP connector is generic to retrieve data from any HTTP endpoint, e.g. to download file. Before REST connector becomes available, you may happen to use the HTTP connector to copy data from RESTful API, which is supported but less functional comparing to REST connector.
            • Web table connector extracts table content from an HTML webpage.

            These may achieve your request.

            Update:

At last now, you decided to choose Logic app to do it for cost concerns:

            • "During the weekend I was trying to do this by DataFlow, but unfortunately it is not possible to do this type of integration by Data Factory, for this reason I will have to make a small logic app that allows me to do it, I do it by logic app because it is what represents the lowest cost to me."

The exception is a bug (please report it, as recommended in the comment), however note that those are not legal OWL axioms. The syntax and semantic specification shows sameAs as requiring two arguments at least.

(Consider that the axiom is supposed to allow definition of synonym individuals; one argument only offers no new information)

If the axioms are generated by an inferred axiom generator, looks like that code has a bug as well.
