Maven is downloading jars of its dependency
            Asked 2022-Feb-02 at 17:39

I have a pom file that has a single dependency. I want maven to download the dependency and wrap it in a new jar. However, when I run mvn clean package, it looks for the dependency, finds the dependency, and then looks at it's pom file and attempts to download all dependency of that dependency. How do I tell maven to not look at that dependencies' pom file and just download it?

            pom.xml:

You can use exclusions on the dependency to avoid the download of the transitive dependencies.

But usually, these transitive dependencies are needed to run your JAR, so you should be really be sure you don't need them.

You need to change in pom.xml file, in the repository nodes, url adresses. You can use find/replace like below.

            from: http://maven.wso2....

            to: https://maven.wso2....

From the Maven 3.8.1, it is blocking http mirror repositories, and uses only https adreses. More in this Release Notes – Maven 3.8.1

Java azure function not deploying dependencies
            Asked 2021-Nov-18 at 05:14

My app has a few maven dependencies. I am able to run the app locally as expected.

When deployed via mvn clean package followed by mvn azure-functions:deploy, it gets deployed. But when accessed, the function throws an exception.

Though when I deploy it via the IntelliJ plugin, it works as expected. What could be going wrong here?

            This looks like the culprit:https://github.com/Azure/azure-functions-java-worker/issues/381

This issue is only with Java8.

Setting the flag FUNCTIONS_WORKER_JAVA_LOAD_APP_LIBS to True fixed it in the Configuration tab. (you can check this to know on how to set it)
