When you try to access that URL for download, you get an unauthorized page.

This is your problem. You must accept oracle's agreement before files download, if you don't, you get this page...

Will it be possible to annotate lambda expression in Java 9?
            Asked 2017-Jun-20 at 18:48

This question is now over 3 years old and specifically addressed Java 8, with the accepted answer also citing the Java SE 8 Final Specification.

I would be interested if something regarding this question will change in Java 9: Is there any way to annotate a lambda expression similar to annotating a corresponding anonymous class?

            Example:

            Annotation:

According to the What's new in Oracle JDK 9 page, No. This has not changed in Java 9.

Of course, that is not definitive, but the JLS for Java 9 has not been released yet.

Chef Test Kitchen: How to verify Jenkins is running in sandbox
            Asked 2017-Jun-09 at 17:30

I am currently using the Jenkins Supermarket cookbook to create a Jenkins instance. I am using the Java_se cookbook to configure Java as a prerequisite of installing Jenkins. Prior to configuring a managed node with the cookbook, I am using Test Kitchen to verify that the provisioning is successful before configuring my managed node.

Once my Test Kitchen instances are up and running, I am verifying the Java installation using the following command:

If you use busser-serverspec, you just write the tests as per normal locally, usually using Net::HTTP.get('http://localhost:8080/whatever').

If you use kitchen-inspec, you need to be a little more roundabout and use something like describe command('curl http://localhost:8080/whatever') and work with it like a normal command resource.

Trouble with knife cookbook site install
            Asked 2017-Apr-20 at 15:13

It's alright when I download the cookbook.

            ANSWER

            Answered 2017-Apr-20 at 15:13

When you run a knife cookbook site download you tell knife to download a .tar.gz of the cookbook in the current directory where you are invoking it. In this case it works for you.

However a knife cookbook site install works differently. It assumes you have your knife.rb value cookbook_path pointing out to a directory in your filesystem which is a chef (and git) repo with (at least) one commit done. Which is not your case as far as I can see in what you're writing here.

You are invoking knife in D:/tools/chef-setupDevEnv/SomeDirectory while your knife.rb tells knife to go #{current_dir}/../chef-java_se which is D:/tools/chef-setupDevEnv/chef-java_se, which probably does not exist and if so, it is not a chef/git repo satisfying the condition I stated in the previous paragraph.

The main usage of install versus download is to have control with branches of changes in the cookbooks you use, you will find more information about its advantages here.
