Sorting data frame according to year and month
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 18:59

I have bitcoin historical data. I split the "DATE" Colum as "year month days and hour" because I wanted to sort data based on hours["AS it is hourly base data"]. the data goes up to 2021-12 ie Decmber["the dates goes from 1 to 30 every month"]. I want to sort this data further as:- "2019-Jan, 2020-Jan 20201-Jan" then "2019-Feb,2020-Feb, 2021-Feb" and soon on

            Year Month DAy Hour open high low close 2019 1 1 0 3700.05 3725.58 3698.83 3715.09 2019 2 1 0 3700.05 3725.58 3698.83 3715.09 2019 3 1 0 3700.05 3725.58 3698.83 3715.09 2019 4 1 0 3700.05 3725.58 3698.83 3715.09 2019 5 1 0 3700.05 3725.58 3698.83 3715.09

can this be done by saying I have split the "DATE" column? if YES please any suggestion on how this can be achieved

The original "DATE" colum was as follows :- 2019-01-01T00:00:00Z

spec_tbl_df is over 10 times slower on same opperations as a normal tibble
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 14:37

So I was really ripping my hair out why two different sessions of R with the same data were producing wildly different times to complete the same task. After a lot of restarting R, cleaning out all my variables, and really running a clean R, I found the issue: the new data structure provided by vroom and readr is, for some reason, super sluggish on my script. Of course the easiest thing to solve this is to convert your data into a tibble as soon as you load it in. Or is there some other explanation, like poor coding praxis in my functions that can explain the sluggish behavior? Or, is this a bug with recent updates of these packages? If so and if someone is more experienced with reporting bugs to tidyverse, then here is a repex showing the behavior cause I feel that this is out of my ballpark.

This is the issue I had in mind. These problems have been known to happen with vroom, rather than with the spec_tbl_df class, which does not really do much.

vroom does all sorts of things to try and speed reading up; AFAIK mostly by lazy reading. That's how you get all those different components when comparing the two datasets.

            With vroom:

Activate Outlook add-in for message stored in separate PST file
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 14:10

We have an Outlook add-in with a task pane that can be opened for messages in Read mode to perform an action on the message. This works fine for messages in the user's normal mailbox, but the button to open the task pane doesn't appear for messages stored in a separate PST file.

Is it possible for add-ins to activate for messages stored in PST files? I suspect the answer may be "no", since all add-in buttons (including the "Get Add-ins" button) disappear as soon as I navigate into a folder from the PST file.

I've tried adding true to the manifest just in case that setting also applied to PST files, but it didn't help.

This scenario doesn't seem to be explicitly mentioned in the list of items not available to add-ins.

Outlook Web Add-ins work for Exchange accounts only. You may consider developing a VSTO based add-in instead, see Walkthrough: Create your first VSTO Add-in for Outlook for more information.

GStreamer C library not working properly on Xubuntu
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 11:39

I am writing a program in C language using gtk3 library. I want it to be able to receive a h264 video stream from a certain IP address (localhost) and UDP/RTP PORT (5000).

In order to do it, I am using gstreamer to both stream and receive the video.

I managed to stream the video using the following pipeline :

            send.sh :

            gst-launch-1.0 filesrc location=sample-mp4-file.mp4 ! decodebin ! x264enc ! 'video/x-h264, stream-format=(string)byte-stream' ! h264parse ! rtph264p

I managed to display the video in a new window using the following pipeline :

            receive.sh :

            gst-launch-1.0 udpsrc port=5000 caps="application/x-rtp,encoding-name=H264" ! rtph264depay ! decodebin ! videoconvert ! autovideosink

At this point, everything works fine. But now I want to receive the stream and display it inside my C/GTK program. I am using the following code (found on internet and adapted to make it compile) :

            Changin xvimagesink by ximagesink :

            sink = gst_element_factory_make ("xvimagesink", NULL); g_assert(sink);

            becomes

            sink = gst_element_factory_make ("ximagesink", NULL); g_assert(sink);

Hope it will help some of you facing the same problem.

How To Rotate Proxies and IP Addresses using R and rvest
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 11:09

I'm doing some scraping, but as I'm parsing approximately 4000 URL's, the website eventually detects my IP and blocks me every 20 iterations.

I've written a bunch of Sys.sleep(5) and a tryCatch so I'm not blocked too soon.

I use a VPN but I have to manually disconnect and reconnect it every now and then to change my IP. That's not a suitable solution with such a scraper supposed to run all night long.

I think rotating a proxy should do the job.

The following code chunk shows how to use httr to query a url using a proxy and extract the html content.

This is extreme weird behaviour, and I dont really think github and slack are linked together somehow that magically remove APP as soon as its Token got exposed.

            They are, though: https://docs.github.com/en/code-security/secret-security/about-secret-scanning

Secret scanning is a mechanism to do just that, detect accidentally leaked secrets in GitHub and report them to the affected service. There are 40+ partners already participating in this, including Slack.

GitHub scans repositories for known types of secrets, to prevent fraudulent use of secrets that were committed accidentally.

Secret scanning is automatically enabled on public repositories. When you push to a public repository, GitHub scans the content of the commits for secrets. If you switch a private repository to public, GitHub scans the entire repository for secrets.

Probably intentionally publishing a live token to a public GitHub repo is a not the right approach, I'd recommend using a private repo instead.
