I created an html page with 3 square images, every image is in a checkbox's label.
I created a JavaScript function which checks how many checkboxes are checked.
On every input (which is a checkbox) I add an event listener, the goal of it is to limit The number of checked checkboxes to 2.
I used CSS so when an image is checked or hovered a red border appears.
My problem is that when I uncheck an image because my mouse is still on it I can't see that it was unchecked until my mouse isn't on the image.
So how can I override the CSS and hide or delete the border when an image is unchecked even if the mouse is still on it? (I don't know any jQuery so please don't give solutions in it)

Because you will need to covert the input data, which is a string, into a number. Then you can do numerical comparison on the data. If the units can vary however, this becomes a little harder.

I am trying to remove the duplicate values from a deeply nested array. I've put the structure of the database down below. I want to compare the location of the steps with eachother and check for duplicates. I was thinking about using db.collection.aggregate
, but it becomes a problem when trying to search through all steps since { $unwind: '$mapbox.routes.legs.0.steps' }
requires a specific index for the steps as far as i know.

Answered 2019-May-22 at 14:43At the end I stopped making a seperate file for connecting with mongodb and cleaning the database and started using the already existing API to create a call. In this call I looped through the steps in the database and mapped the location to a key. After that I check if that key already existed and pushed that index to a duplicate array.
Then I proceeded to loop through the duplicate list and spliced the duplicate entries from the list with steps. After that I ran the following function to update the entry: await routeSchema.updateOne({ _id: route._id }, { $set: route });

I am experiencing some problems with performing CHECKDB on my SQL Server. I am running SQL Server 2008 SP4 and SQL Server 2014 SP2 CU4. The SQL Server 2008 instance uses SAN storage, the SQL Server 2014 instance uses just local storage.
During CHECKDB is running I get messages in the error log like the following:
SQL Server has encountered 61 occurrence(s) of I/O requests taking longer than 15 seconds to complete on file ...
I am aware that my disks (local and SAN) are not optimal regarding throughput but unfortunately that's the setup I have to stick with in the nearer future. Furthermore the throughput is sufficient for my daily workload but the time CHECKDB is running things tend to get out of control and the disks are overwhelmed by the traffic generated.
CHECKDB is invoked by Ola Hallengren's Backup solution using commands like
DBCC CHECKDB ([mydb]) WITH NO_INFOMSGS, ALL_ERRORMSGS, DATA_PURITY
The IO warnings in the error log are mainly for tempdb and for a few user database files.
Tempdb is configured according to the setup checklist by Brent Ozar: 8 datafiles, each pregrown to the sames size, autogrowth disabled. The transaction log file resides on a different volume. I do not use any traceflags like 1117 and 1118 so far.
Interestingly I get the IO warnings on the SQL 2014 instance just after my biggest database have grown from 100GB to 200GB in a few days (resulting from data being migrated into the database...the usual growth rate is much lower).
The IO warnings on the SQL 2014 go along with timeouts in Nagios monitoring. Here's a screenshot of the disk throughput from Nagios: The time CHECKDB runs the overall throughput (read and write) is identical with the max values over time:
Here's a statistic of disk throughput on checkdb with physical_only:
Interestingly the IO warnings have gone now. Additionally there were no further timeouts on Nagios checks.
Is there anything I could do to get rid of the warnings and the IO overkill situation like
- telling CHECKDB to run slower and use less resources
- optimize the structure of my biggest database (VLF count? Index maintenance is running daily)
- moving tempdb to the SAN
The 2014 instance just got one local RAID drive consisting of two sata disks (due to blade server) which is partitioned for windows and has separate partitions for data, log and tempdb. I am aware that this is against best practice configuration using different disks for tempdb, windows, data and log. But unfortunately there is currently no way to implement such a solution. I could switch using the SAN but unfortunately this is even slower most of the time (poorly configured...outdated technology...etc).
It's perfectly acceptable for you to think "man get a better IO subsystem and shut up" but as I wrote that's not possible short term. Therefore it would help tremeandously to be able to solve the problem in another way. As I said for my regular workload the current IO subsystem (however old fashioned it might seem) is perfectly sufficient.

I am confused about SQL Server t-Log file size growth (.ldf file). I analyzed various blogs/topics by DBA's some recommending Log file Shrink while some advised not to do so. Here is what I used to follow:
Take Database in Full mode if its not already in it.
Shrink Log files if not enough memory freed then move to next step.
- De-Attach Database. (sometimes it went in Single Mode and no matter what deadlock process I kill , it will never come in multi-user mode again. BIG PROBLEM!!! )
- move .ldf file to other location and Restore mdf file only.
This was not a recommended technique so I surfed to following script i.e. reducing Virtual Log File (VLF) to free unused space:

You can either make the transactional log backups, or change the recovery mode to Simple and release the empty space.

Answered 2017-Aug-01 at 18:06There are many excellent articles on managing VLFs in SQL server; but the crux of all of them is- It depends on you!
Some people may need really quick recovery, and allocating a large VLF upfront is better.
DB size and VLFs are not really correlated.
You may have a small DB and may be doing large amount of updates. Imagine a DB storing daily stock values. It deletes all data every night and inserts new data in tables every day! This will really create a large log data but may not impact mdf file size.
Here's an article
about VLF auto growth settings. Quoting important section
Up to 2014, the algorithm for how many VLFs you get when you create, grow, or auto-grow the log is based on the size in question:
- Less than 1 MB, complicated, ignore this case.
- Up to 64 MB: 4 new VLFs, each roughly 1/4 the size of the growth
- 64 MB to 1 GB: 8 new VLFs, each roughly 1/8 the size of the growth
- More than 1 GB: 16 new VLFs, each roughly 1/16 the size of the growth
So if you created your log at 1 GB and it auto-grew in chunks of 512 MB to 200 GB, you’d have 8 + ((200 – 1) x 2 x 8) = 3192 VLFs. (8 VLFs from the initial creation, then 200 – 1 = 199 GB of growth at 512 MB per auto-grow = 398 auto-growths, each producing 8 VLFs.)
IMHO 3000+ VLFs is not a big number but alarming. Since you have some idea about your DB size; and assuming you know that typically your logs are approximately n times your DB size.
Then you can put in right auto growth settings to keep your VLFs in a range you are comfortable with.
I personally will be comfortable with a setting of 10 GB start with 5 GB auto-growth.
So for 120 GB of logs (n=1) this will give me 16 + 22*16=368 VLFs. And if my logs go up to 500 GB, then I'll have 16+ 98*16=1584 VLFs
