Unable to pass args to context.job_queue.run_once in Python Telegram bot API
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 19:09

In the following code how can we pass the context.args and context to another function, in this case callback_search_msgs

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 18:39

            A few notes:

            • job callbacks accept exactly one argument of type CallbackContext. Not two.
            • the job_kwargs parameter is used to pass keywoard argument to the APScheduler backend, on which JobQueue is built. The way you're trying to use it doesn't work.
            • if you want to know only the chat_id in the job, you don't have to pass the whole context argument of search_msgs. Just do context.job_queue.run_once(..., context=chat_id,...)
            • if you want to pass both the chat_id and context.args you can e.g. pass them as tuple:

SLURM and Python multiprocessing pool on a cluster

I am trying to run a simple parallel program on a SLURM cluster (4x raspberry Pi 3) but I have no success. I have been reading about it, but I just cannot get it to work. The problem is as follows:

I have a Python program named remove_duplicates_in_scraped_data.py. This program is executed on a single node (node=1xraspberry pi) and inside the program there is a multiprocessing loop section that looks something like:

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 06:17

Pythons multiprocessing package is limited to shared memory parallelization. It spawns new processes that all have access to the main memory of a single machine.

You cannot simply scale out such a software onto multiple nodes. As the different machines do not have a shared memory that they can access.

To run your program on multiple nodes at once, you should have a look into MPI (Message Passing Interface). There is also a python package for that.

Depending on your task, it may also be suitable to run the program 4 times (so one job per node) and have it work on a subset of the data. It is often the simpler approach, but not always possible.

client.commands.cache.get('ping').execute(message, args); or even client.commands.find('ping').execute(message, args); but it says "TypeError: Cannot read property 'get' of undefined - Discord bot" or even

I have been moderating a telegram group for some time and I have had no issues using the python-telegram-bot package. I actually love it. However, I can't seem to get a functioning "Welcome Message" for when new users join.

As thethiny already pointed out, chatmember updates have so associated message: update.message will be None, while update.chat_member will be an instance of ChatMemberUpdated. Note that Message.reply_text is just a shortcut for Bot.send_message(chat_id=message.chat.id, ...), so as long as you have the chat_id you can just use e.g. context.bot.send_message - and you can get that chat_id from ChatMemberUpdated.chat. In fact, you can still use PTBs shortcuts, e.g. update.effective_chat.send_message.

Please check out the docs of

as well as the chatmemberbot.py example provided by PTB.

I believe it's something with Redis, as I'm using it to store the system cache. When I go to access my endpoint in postman it returns the following error:

Your problem is that you have set SESSION_CONNECTION=session, but your SESSION_DRIVER=default, so you have to use SESSION_DRIVER=database in your .env. See the config/session.php:

Apparently the problem was solved by removing custom listener of this loading overlay in onDestroy() method, because it was trying to get a reference for this and a related view before the fragment was in Resumed state.

I have Macbook with Apple M1 Chip in which I have to use Python 3.6.5 for my project. It comes with Python 2.7.16 and 3.8.2 preinstalled. I used brew to install Python which by default installed 3.9.1.

So, I tried this homebrew formula to install 3.6.5, but got following error:

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Apr-16 at 05:02

Using answer of @Charles Duffy you can make older versions run on M1s. However Python versions before 3.8 will NOT be officially supported on M1 because they were not in bug-fix phase when M1 chips were released. It is stated clearly here as:

">Are there plans to backport PR 22855 to any branches older than 3.9?

The plan is to also support 3.8 on Big Sur and Apple Silicon as 3.8 is still in bugfix mode. There are no plans to backport support to 3.7 and 3.6 which are in the security-fix-only phase of their release cycles."

            in this python bug tracker.

So I don't think there is any way to get them working on M1 unless someone tweaks python on their own.
