Add day/night overlay to google maps with MVC framework
            Asked 2020-Feb-12 at 10:49

I'm trying to add the day/night overlay from this github:https://github.com/rossengeorgiev/nite-overlay to my google maps view with MVC5 Framework. I've found some solutions on stackoverflow but these are for different Frameworks and work quite differently.

So my question is: how to add a day/night overview to my code? My attempt:

Your code works for me if I remove the &callback=initMap from the API include and move the include into the of the document. The Google Maps Javascript API v3 needs to be loaded before it is referenced in the code.

You can use the nite package, you will have to first get the native google maps object from agm like this, in your component.ts:

            Install nite-overlay

Use refresh() method to update the overlay periodically. Perhaps via setInterval();. Alternatively, a specific date can be selected via setDate() followed by a call to refresh() to redraw the overlay. Setting the date to null will cause nite overlay to use current date and time. Note: If the overlay is hidden and refresh() is called, the overlay position will not be updated. Not until the overlay is visible again.
