Filter expression not supported for Arrow Datasets
            Asked 2021-Feb-03 at 15:58

I'm using arrow package in R. I need to filter strings, so for example I have 700 million rows I need to get only those that contain "Walmart", but I get the error below.

            ...

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Feb-03 at 15:58

The error message is correct: as of version 3.0.0, the arrow R package does not support string functions like grep for filtering datasets. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARROW-10305 is the issue tracking that feature. We hope to have these string functions implemented in the next release (4.0.0).

PostgreSQL BDR issues with replication slots
            Asked 2020-Dec-03 at 11:17

If I may, I would like to write a brief summary of the issue before I add more details to make my question cleaner and clearer:

I have a BDR group running in production, replication works fine in all nodes, but I'm getting errors regarding a replication slot in one of the nodes that I would like to fix without breaking anything else...

            More details:

I have a three-node BDR group running on PostgreSQL 9.4, 2 nodes using RedHat7, another using Centos7. The database name is "MCT".

            ...

            ANSWER

            Answered 2020-Dec-03 at 11:17

The underlying issue was a second DB named "OLD" in REDHAT_2 node that was trying to sync with "MCT" in all nodes and was taking the ownership of replication slots so the real "MCT" nodes can't really open a connection.

Taking BDR down in the "OLD" Database and restarting PSQL solved the issue. Thanks

kafka-connect Error: Unable to obtain valid replication slot
            Asked 2020-Jan-08 at 19:28

The Kafka debezium-postgres connector in my application is throwing this error:

            ...

            ANSWER

            Answered 2020-Jan-08 at 19:28

I got it fixed by rebooting the rds DB instance in aws which was referred by the connector , After that the value of confirmed_flush_lsn got reset to a non-null value somewhat similar to (restart_lsn = 3/93043310). The kafka-connect was able to find the replication_slot "slot1" as expected. The connectors were also up. This fixed my problem temporarily but still I would like to understand what set confirmed_flush_lsn =null for a logical replication_slot in the first place.

            Install Datoid

You can download it from GitHub.
PHP requires the Visual C runtime (CRT). The Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2019 is suitable for all these PHP versions, see visualstudio.microsoft.com. You MUST download the x86 CRT for PHP x86 builds and the x64 CRT for PHP x64 builds. The CRT installer supports the /quiet and /norestart command-line switches, so you can also script it.
