I am relatively new in dealing with txt and json datasets. I have a dialogue dataset in a txt file and i want to convert it into a csv file with each new line converted into a column. and when the next dialog starts (next paragraph), it starts with a new row. so i get data in format of

A CSV file is a list of strings separated by commas, with newlines (\n) separating the rows.

Due to this simplistic layout, it is often not suitable for containing strings that may contain commas within them, for instance dialogue.

That being said, with your input file, it is possible to use regex to replace any single newlines with a comma, which effectively does the "each new line converted into a column, each new paragraph a new row" requirement.

Out of Range error Copying UsedRange - Why did this break?

(I know the code is messy - I'll refactor when it works)

This code chucks up an 'Out of Range' error. It worked for days, and then suddenly stopped working and I can't figure out why.

The desired functionality is:

File dialog and open Excel file.
Open the workbook
Copy data in first sheet to clipboard
Paste into A1 on pre-existing sheet in ThisWorkbook
Close workbook

Debugging suggests it's OpenBook.Sheets(1).UsedRange.Copy which is failing.

I think I must have knocked something while editing at the bottom of the Sub?

Screenshot of problem hereThis is my first post to stackoverflow so go easy on me if I am not doing something right haha.

I'm working on my project for a course I am doing. It's with Bootstrap 4 and the issue I am having is the navbar when being resized starts to lose it's full width. My guess is the content beneath it was causing this but I am not sure how I go about fixing it.

I really would appreciate any guidance here as it's been driving me mental and I know it's possibly somthing so easy but I can't spot what I am doing wrong.

Probably because your .card-about width is wider than your viewport.

Try using max-width instead so. I changed your height into auto so the content wont overflow when the height become bigger.

The 'CascadePackage' package did not load correctly

I just did an update to VS2019(16.9.0) and now I get this message. (actually on two machines). A restart does not resolve the problem.

What is the CascadePackage? Can I just say No to dialogue box and be OK?

Also...the file it mentions to examine...does not exist anymore, nore the directory it was in.

I did find this line in the latest ActivityLog.xml

Seem like this was caused by LiveShare. From Visual Studio Developer Community

As for my two issues:

On one machine...the error went away by starting VisualStudio.

On another machine I went into Tools->Get Tools and Features...
Click on Individual components search for Live Share. Uncheck it. Restart VS.

Go back into Tools->Get Tools and Features...
Click on Individual components search for Live Share. Check it back.

More about the ActivityLog...
Visual Studio uses a /log option on update. This creates the ActivityLog.xml.
More here /Log (devenv.exe) This is something you can also do yourself.

Converting from vb.net to c#, switch function not working

So I have been working on a small project (Previously built with vb.net) in C# ( Being honest, I have used an online vb.net to c# converter to get to this point.) that will basically rename the suffix of a set of files to specific predetermined names (hard coded).

Firstly the working part...

Press button_1, a file dialogue opens and you select files. These are then populated into a listbox_1.

Now press button_2 and the files from listbox_1 are renamed and sent to listbox_2.

Now the issue I am having...

For some reason I cannot figure out, the names are not being changed through the switch statement, they are just taking the string variable name and populating listbox_2 with blank entries (Because the starting Variable is empty).

string NewFileName = "";

I'm not sure what is happening here at all so if anyone is able to help me out that would be great.

I've seen numerous applications with 'Rich' selection dialogues like selection dialogues in "Paint.Net" or the Windows Wizards (See Image Below). I'm looking for an alternative of a selection dialog rather using a MessageBox in .NET. I've search online for a long time but haven't found a definite name for these dialogues or MessageBox controls...

I want to make an application that uses these types of dialogues, but I don't know how to generate them unless designing them in a form manually. Is there already a way to generate these messages or do I have to design them myself?

This selection dialog is called the TaskDialog in .NET. You can acquire this by importing the Microsoft.WindowsAPICodePack.Dialogs package from NuGet package manager.
