QUESTION
I am trying to reduce lines of code because I realized that I am repeating the same equations every time. I am programming a contour map and putting several sources of intensity into it. Until now I put 3 sources, but in the future I want to put more, and that will increase the lines a lot. So I want to see if it is possible to reduce the lines of "source positions" and "Intensity equations". As you can see the last equation is a logaritmic summation of z1, z2 and z3, is it possible to reduce that, any idea?
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 15:45You could iterate over certain parts in a loop.
I tried to keep the same format overall and just rearranged the code to show how you might do it.
QUESTION
I have a text file called listofhotelguests.txt where hotelguests are stored line by line with their first names separated by && as a delimiter. Can someone explain how I can have my Python program read it so it associates john with doe, ronald with macdonald, and george with washington?
My expected outcome I'm hoping for is if I prompt the user for their lastname to make sure their a valid guest on the list, the program will check it against what it has in the file for whatever the firstname they entered earlier was.
So if someone enters george as their first name, the program retrieves the line where it has george&&washington, prompts the user to enter their lastname and if it doesn't match what it has, either say it matches or doesn't. I can figure the rest out later myself.
Assuming there is nobody with the same names.
I know I have to split the lines with &&, and somehow store what's before && as something like name1 and whats after && as name2? Or could I do something where if the firstname and lastname are on the same line it returns name1 and password1?
Not sure on what to do. Python is one of my newer languages, and I'm the only CS student in my family and friend groups, so I couldn't ask anybody else for help. Got nowhere by myself.
Even just pointing me in the direction of what I need to study would help immensely.
Thanks

...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 19:03To compare, you first need to put your condition inside while (reader.Read()){} . then add the column number of your table to reader[].toString() in your if-else condition. learn more about Database adapters before you do these!

QUESTION
I created an empty asp.net core web application (dotnet new web -n
) and went to the github for IdentityServer4.Quickstart.UI and was followed the instructions to add the quickstart UI. I first did the powershell cmd iex ((New-Object System.Net.WebClient).DownloadString('https://raw.githubusercontent.com/IdentityServer/IdentityServer4.Quickstart.UI/main/getmain.ps1'))
to download the files and run the application but it keeps telling me Index not found
but the file is inside of the Views
folder. So I then deleted all those files it downloaded from the project and installed it using its templates by running the cmds dotnet new -i identityserver4.templates
then dotnet new is4ui --force
which downloaded those files again onto my project. However, it keeps telling me the same message.
I noticed that under the Quickstart
folder, contains a folder named Home
which has the HomeController.cs
and the namespace is as IdentityServerHost.Quickstart.UI
... do I need to change that namespace to match my solution i.e. ids.Quickstart.Home
?
What is causing this to display that error when infact there is the Index.cshtml file inside of the Views folder?**
This is my startup.cs
file:

QUESTION
I have a .NET 5.0 console application. How can I create a version resource and then display that version in my application?
In the past, I have seen an AssemblyInfo.cs file. But I don't see anything like that in my new project.
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 15:38I had to solve this problem recently: how do you know which version of a tool is deployed? And how can you automate the version number, so you don't accidentally use an old version?
In the past, that information was stored as attributes in AssemblyInfo.cs. In .NET Core, those attributes are now generated by project properties at runtime.
Andrew Lock explains how the various properties like Version
, VersionPrefix
, VersionSuffix
,AssemblyVersion
FileVersion
, PackageVersion
, InformationalVersion
are used.
The most important ones are Version
, VersionPrefix
and VersionSuffix
. That's because Version
is used as the default for the other ones. Version
in turn can be calculated as VersionPrefix-VersionSuffix
if there's no explicit value.
Quoting the article:
The
Version
property is the value most commonly set when building .NET Core applications. It controls the default values of all the version numbers embedded in the build output, such asPackageVersion
andAssemblyVersion
so it's often used as the single source of the app/library version.
If you use System.Commandline, the version info displayed by --version
is the InformationalVersion
whose default comes from Version
.
The default VersionPrefix
is 1.0.0
and the default suffix is empty, resulting in version 1.0.0
.
*Formulas
The nice thing is that the properties can have formulas. I was able to automatically generate a date-related version number simply by adding this to a csproj
that contains no other version information
QUESTION
I build a notification system which shows a bootstrap alert div in a NotificationHandler
blazor component. This works fine but the notifications stay there. I'd like to make these notifications disappear after x seconds. How can I do this while not blocking UI and making sure it is executed on the blazor render thread.
See example code below:

QUESTION
I have setup SendGrid for my user registration email confirmation in my .Net 5.0 app as per Microsofts instructions here: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=532713
Everything works fine until the user clicks the confirmation link in their register confirmation email.
This issue is being caused by a stray amp in my confirmation link. I am trying to understand where it is coming from and how to remove it.
When the new user clicks 'Submit' on the Register.cshtml
page they are successfully directed to the RegisterConfirmation.cshtml
page and the email is received in their inbox.
Actual behavior:
The user clicks the link in the email and hits the ConfirmEmail
page.
The user is redirected to /Index
page.
The EmailConfirmed
bool in the DB is not updated.
If I comment out the redirect to /Index in my controller, then I get a null value error shown below.

QUESTION
We have a uwp windows 10 store app and its licensed per device. we throw an error when that license is already applied on any device. user may uninstall the app and install it again on the same device and same license key works fine.
But for every few days i noticed the HWID(hardwareId ) generated by the following is not unique which fails license key when user uninstalls app and installs on the same device.
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 09:50The ASHWID provides a strong binding between the app/packag, which is not affected by OS re-installs and version updates for an app. But sometimes there are also other reasons can affect it, it is difficult to know which causes the change of the ASHWID.
Therefore, if you want to get the unique id to distinguish the device, maybe you could use SystemIdentification.GetSystemIdForPublisher method, the identifier returned by this method is specific to the app publisher on the current device. In other words, all apps by the same publisher will get the same value for this ID (for all users).

Install cs
You can use cs like any standard Python library. You will need to make sure that you have a development environment consisting of a Python distribution including header files, a compiler, pip, and git installed. Make sure that your pip, setuptools, and wheel are up to date. When using pip it is generally recommended to install packages in a virtual environment to avoid changes to the system.
