I made a pandas dataframe of the Iris dataset and I want to put 4 extra column in it. The content of the columns have to be SepalRatio, PetalRatio, SepalMultiplied, PetalMultiplied. I used the assign() function of the DataFrame to add this four columns but the DataFrame remains the samen.

I made a pandas DataFrame from the Iris dataset and I want to add an extra column calls SpecieID. It means that Iris-setosa gets an ID of 0, Iris-versicolor, 1 and Iris-virginica, 2.

seaborn regplot removes colors of datapoints
            Asked 2017-Aug-31 at 14:38

I am analyzing the Iris dataset and made a scatterplot between the petal width and petal length. To make the plot I used this code :

Your problem is that sns.regplot() draws all the points the same color, on top of the points with the different colors.

To avoid this, try calling regplot(..., scatter=False) to prevent the individual datapoints from being plotted. Check the documentation for regplot.

Python library seaborn doesn't work properly in Visual Studio
            Asked 2017-Aug-23 at 10:48

I tried to run a Python script in Visual Studio that includes the Python libraries matplotlib and seaborn. A script that includes matplotlib only runs correctly and displays the plot however, a script that includes seaborn doesn't do anything (no errors). I installed the libraries by installing Anaconda.

The code that works properly is an example from the website of matplotlib :

You're comparing two entirely different codes here. The first code produces a plot in a new window. The second code does not have any output. As the comment inside the code states, "Jupyter notebooks print the result of the last thing you do".

Visual Studio does not do this; or more generally, python does not do this. If you want to print something in python, you need the print statement or function.
