You should use cache.asMap().remove(key) as you suspected. The other call delegates to this, but does not return the value because that is not idiomatic for a cache.

The Cache interface is opinionated for how one should commonly use a cache, while the asMap() view is more raw to allow for advanced operations. For example, you generally wouldn't iterate over a cache (e.g. memcached doesn't allow this), but if you need to then the Map provides that support. All calls flow into the same backing structure, so there will be no inconsistency. The APIs merely try to nudge users towards best practices, but strive to not block a developer from getting their work done safely and correctly.

I have the wackiest bug. Like....the wackiest! If any of ya'll want to put eyes on this, awesomesauce! I really appriciate it! I am creating a survey with REACT, Redux, SQL, HML, Material-ui, and CSS.

I've created a graph of information with am4charts using data from a database. Everything is working and will show up on the page......but not on page load. What I am seeing in my console is that the page will load, it fires off my get request but doesn't return with the data fast enough (I think). By the time that the get request loads, my graph has populated with no data.

Here is the code that I have for the page that I am rendering. What is really odd is that, once my code has run, I can cut a line of code (I've been using a console log). And then the graph will render and load.

I'm currently using Winsock2 to be able to test a connection to multiple local telnet servers, but if the server connection fails, the default Winsock client takes forever to timeout.

I've seen from other posts that select() can set a timeout for the connection part, and that setsockopt() with timeval can timeout the receiving portion of the code, but I have no idea how to implement either. Pieces of code that I've copy/pasted from other answers always seem to fail for me.

How would I use both of these functions in the default client code? Or, if it isn't possible to use those functions in the default client code, can someone give me some pointers on how to use those functions correctly?

select() can set a timeout for the connection part.

Yes, but only if you put the socket into non-blocking mode before calling connect(), so that connect() exits immediately and then the code can use select() to wait for the socket to report when the connect operation has finished. But the code shown is not doing that.

setsockopt() with timeval can timeout the receiving portion of the code

Yes, though select() can also be used to timeout a read operation, as well. Simply call select() first, and then call recv() only if select() reports that the socket is readable (has pending data to read).

I've been attempting to create a node class which mimics a node on a graph. Currently, storage of the predecessor and successor nodes are stored via a node pointer vector: std::vector previous. The vectors for the predecessor/successor nodes are private variables and are accessible via setters/getters.

You can use simply intent.putExtra instead of worrying about which variant like put_____Extra to use.

When extracting the value, you can use intent.extras to get the Bundle and then you can use get() on the Bundle and cast to the appropriate type. This is easier than trying to figure out which intent.get____Extra function to use to extract it, since you will have to cast it anyway.

The below code works whether your data class is Serializeable or Parcelable. You don't need to use arrays, because ArrayLists themselves are Serializeable, but you do need to convert from MutableList to ArrayList.

Sorry I don't show my variables or anything, tried to give information only pertaining to the questions. This 1 Sub is huge.

Currently my code allows a user to select multiple files, the files selected will be sorted in a specific format, then loaded into 2 different arrays. Currently loads Columns D:E into 1 array and Columns I:K into another array (from selected files QSResultFileWS, and returns those arrays to my destination FormattingWS. I'm still trying to learn arrays so if the methodology I used to do this isn't proper, be gentle.

Yes, React refs need to be forwarded when using functional components.
You can't use the useRef hook within the loop.

Solution

Fix creating the refs. Use a React ref to hold an array of created refs, and pass them by mapped index.

Just to address your attempt, the correct syntax for that would be

if (a == b || a == c || a == d || a == e || a == f || a == g || a == h || a == i) ....

But depending on your use case, it's probably advisable to loop over the array instead.
