QUESTION
for og_raw_file in de_core.file.rglob(raw_path_object.url):
with de_core.file.open(og_raw_file, mode="rb") as raw_file, de_core.file.open(
staging_destination_path + de_core.aws.s3.S3FilePath(raw_file.name).file_name, "wb"
) as stager_file, concurrent.futures.ThreadPoolExecutor() as executor:
logger.info("Submitting file to thread to add metadata", raw_file=raw_file)
executor.submit(
,
raw_path_object,
<...rest of arguments to function>
)
...ANSWER
Answered 2022-Mar-09 at 03:26Start by reading the docs for Executor.shutdown()
, which is called by magic with wait=True
when the with
block ends.
For the same reason, if you run this trivial program you'll see that you get no useful parallelism either:
QUESTION
I'm struggling to debug a NextJS
API that is working in development (via localhost) but is silently failing in production.
Below, the two console.log statements
are not returning, so I suspect that the textToSpeech
call is not executing correctly, potentially in time?
I'm not sure how to rectify, happy to debug as directed to resolve this!

QUESTION
I am trying to stream data from a large csv file into readline. I tried just piping the readStream from s3 into the readline input, however I faced an error with S3 only allowing a connection to stay open for a certain amount of time.
I am creating the stream from s3 like so:
...ANSWER
Answered 2022-Jan-07 at 18:01I was able to work in a solution for this using the AWS S3 Range
property and creating a custom readable stream with NodeJS Stream API.
By using this "smart stream" I was able to grab data in chunks in separate requests to the S3 instance. By grabbing the data in chunks, I avoided any timeout errors as well as creating a more efficient stream. The NodeJS Readable Super class handles the buffer so as to not overload the input to readline. It also automatically handles the pausing and resuming of the stream.
This class made it possible to stream large files from AWS S3 very easily:
QUESTION
I have to transfer a file from and API endpoint to two different bucket. The original upload is made using:
...ANSWER
Answered 2022-Feb-12 at 01:22In S3 you can use the Upload
class from @aws-sdk/lib-storage
to do multipart uploads. Seems like there might be no mention of this in the docs site for @aws-sdk/client-s3
unfortunately.
It's mentioned in the upgrade guide here: https://github.com/aws/aws-sdk-js-v3/blob/main/UPGRADING.md#s3-multipart-upload
Here's the example provided in https://github.com/aws/aws-sdk-js-v3/tree/main/lib/lib-storage:
QUESTION
I've written an import function that gets a single file from an aws s3-bucket.
That function itself is a wrapper around aws.s3::s3read_using()
which takes a reading function as its first argument.
Why do I wrap around aws.s3::s3read_using()
? Because I need to do some special error-handling and want the wrapping function to do some Recall()
up to a limit... but that's a different story.
Now that i've successfully build and tested my wrapping function i want to do another wrapping arround that:
I want to iterate n times over my wrapper to bind the downloaded files together. I now have the difficulty to hand the 'reading_function' to the FUN
argument of aws.s3::s3read_using()
.
I could do that by simply using ...
- BUT!
I want to make clear to the USER of my wrapping wrapper, that he needs to specify that argument.
So I've decided to use rlangs rlang::enexpr()
to capture the argument and to hand it over to my first wrapper via !!
- which in return captures that argument again with rlang::enexpr()
and hands it over - finally - to aws.s3::s3read_using()
via rlang::expr(aws.s3::s3read_using(FUN = !!reading_fn, object = s3_object))
That works perfectly fine and smooth. My Problem is with testing that function construct using testthat
and mockery
Here is some broadly simplyfied code:
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Dec-09 at 20:11I think you're complicating things here, although maybe I'm not fully understanding your end goal. You can directly pass functions through arguments without any issue. Your example code above can be easily simplified to (keeping the loop just to match your test_that()
call):
QUESTION
I use react native
and backend was built with Prisma
and GraphQL
(Apollo
Server).
I don't store image data to Prisma but to aw3
.
The problem is I want to upload several images at once to my app. So I make image column of Prisma Array [], not String.
But as using aw3, I can upload only one image at once. So even if I make image column as Array, I can't upload several images at once as Array using aw3
.
When I searched people suggest 3 options in order to upload multiple files by aw3.
- multi-thread
- multi-processing
- zip upload (amazon-lambda)
In my case(to upload files as Array
),
which option is most advisable?
And can you teach me the way of doing that?
My backend code:

Answered 2022-Jan-19 at 11:04We need to resolve multiple file upload promises with Promise.all
. Let us refactor our code and split it into 2 functions.
QUESTION
I'm using Terraform CDK to deploy a lambda function and am trying to set a trigger to it using s3 notifications. I'm sorta new to CDK, so I'm not sure where things might be going wrong here.
Reading this example and based also on what's done using regular CDK, I thought that to access the function arn (so to add it to bucket notification setting), it'd be my_function.arn
, but it renders the following string
{TfToken[TOKEN.XXX]}
.
It seems to me that I'd be able to fetch the arn somewhere with this value, but I couldn't find out where.
I thought of breaking it up into two stacks, but I needed both lambda and its notification trigger to be deployed together.
The code is
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Dec-27 at 22:12This is the correct way to reference the terraform resource's ARN property, the {TfToken[TOKEN.XXX]}
tokens resolve to Terraform language syntax in the synth output. Check out the CDK For Terraform documentation here that discusses tokens:
For example, this CDKTF code:

EDIT: To make things as reproducible as possible, I made a dummy bucket on AWS that I will give the credentials for.
What I'm trying to accomplish: Create a new column in each dataframe that comes from a CSV file in the S3 bucket called state_name

QUESTION
I'm trying to upload PDF files using Multer-S3 directly to S3 using express server.
For some reason, it works when I try to upload SVG file it works great, but when I'm trying to upload something else like PDF there is no error, but when I try to access to file in my S3 bucket it's not opening or showing a blank PDF page.
My code:
filesService.js
ANSWER
Answered 2021-Nov-21 at 08:48As an alternative, and since we chose to make our PDF much bigger, we took a decision to move the PDF generator from the front-end to the backend, so there was no need using Multer for that anymore, we generated the PDF on Express backend server using pdfkit
npm package, then uploaded it once it done generating the PDF directly from the same server to the related S3 bucket, using aws-sdk
npm package.
So, finally what we chose to do is just to send the related PDF data from the front to the backend and generate the PDF there.
