Climate is a R library typically used in Artificial Intelligence, Dataset applications. Climate has no bugs, it has no vulnerabilities, it has a Permissive License and it has low support. You can download it from GitHub.

This public repository is a portal for climate data and information for ForestGEO sites. It serves two primary functions:. Quick tip: To download a single file simply open the file, select "Raw" (a button towards the top, right of the screen), and right click anywhere over the text. Click "Save as" and choose a Comma Separated Value File (.CSV) format. If that's not an option in the browser that you're using, simply type ".csv" at the end of the file name. It will save to your computer, and you can access it as an Excel file.

            QUESTION

Combine values from duplicated rows into one based on condition (in R)
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 16:51

I have a dataset with the name of Danish ministers and their position from 1990 to 2020 (data comes from dataset called WhoGovern; https://politicscentre.nuffield.ox.ac.uk/whogov-dataset/). The dataset consists of the ministers name, the ministers position, the prestige of that position, and the year in which the minister had that given position.

My problem is that some ministers are counted twice in the same year (i.e., the rows aren't unique in terms of name and year). See the example in the picture below, where "Bertel Haarder" was both Minister of Health and Minister of Interior Affairs in 2010 and 2021.

I want to create a dataset, where all the rows are unique combinations of name and year. However, I do not want to remove any information from the dataset. Instead, I want to use the information in the prestige column to combine the duplicated rows into one. The observations with the highest prestige should be the main observations, where the other information should be added in a new column, e.g., position2 and prestige2. In the example with Bertel Haarder the data should look like this:

(PS: Sorry for bad presenting of the tables, but didn't know how to create a nice looking table...)

Here's the dataset for creating a reproducible example with observations from 2010-2020:

Reshape the data to wide format twice, once for position and the other for prestige_1, and join the two results.

            QUESTION

Query to Find Adjacent Records in Access 2016
            Asked 2021-Jun-11 at 08:36

I have a table with a field called Result that contains values that can be anywhere between 1 and 100.

The table also contains a Date/Time field and is sorted from oldest to newest.

I want to be able to return adjacent records that have a Result of less than 3.

So, I need to first find a record with a Result that is less than 3 then check if the next records also have a Result of less than 3. If they do these records should be returned.

There may be no such adjacent records or there may be multiple records that meet this criteria.

            Is this possible?

I've put together a short piece of code that loops the original data, ordered by the date field, and if it finds a result of less than 3, checks the following results until one of them is 3 or more. It adds all of the ID fields to a string, which can then be used as the SQL for a query.

Spatial operations with curvilinear data in program stars for R

I'm new to the package stars for R and am trying to do basic spatial operations with curvilinear data. I am using netCDF climate data. I am able to read the netcdf into r along with a shapefile I would like to use to specify the area in which I want to conduct analyses. I have tried to crop the file directly using st_crop() but receive the following error:

Well I figured it out and it was quite simple. I was able to subset the stars object using the shapefile with this simple code: test[wrst]. No warping or resampling necessary.

I am trying to web scrape links to articles from a news webpage. I've done a nested find_all and I've managed to get the 'a href' sections, but this also includes info I don't require like article name.

I've searched several articles on SO such as this. But none seem to work for my specific case. Does Anyone know how I can create a list of just news article links?

Since you are using Spring Boot, it usually comes bundled with handy tools for JSON parsing. Spring Boot wires per default jackson into your application.

The first thing, you'll need is a (reduced) POJO model of the response.

Formula for a disease spread in java timer
            Asked 2021-May-19 at 20:22

I have a formula that sets the initial speed of the virus spread and I want it to increase as the number of infected people increases. So I created a formula inside java timer but when I start my program the speed is constant.

            ...

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-May-19 at 13:47

It looks like your spreadSpeed is an int. Because of this any division operation you do with it gets rounded down.

Since you don't cast (infected / population) to an int, they both proboably are int. Meaning the division will also be rounded down which will result in a 0 until the infected are more than the population.

To fix this issue, you could make spreadSpeed a double instead of an int and cast the population in the division to a double to force the division to use floating point numbers and not integers. For this to work you also need to cast the spreadSpeed to an int when removing people from the population/adding people to the infected.

For loop for converting character data to numeric in a data frame
            Asked 2021-May-13 at 11:43

I have 50 data frames (different name each) with 10 (same name) columns of climate data. The first 5 columns although they are numbers, their class is "character". The rest 4 columns are already in the correct class (numeric) and the last one (named 'wind dir') is in character class so no change is needed.

I tried two ways to convert the class of those 5 columns in all 50 data frames, but nothing worked.

1st way) Firstly I've created a vector with the names of those 50 data frames and I named it onomata.

Secondly I've created a vector col_numbers2 <- c(1:5) with the number of columns I would like to convert.

Maybe the following code can help.
First, get the filenames with list.files. Second, read them all in with lapply. If read.table is not the appropriate function, read help("read.table"), it is the same page as for read.csv, read.csv2, etc. Then, coerce the first 5 columns of all data.frames to numeric in one go.

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-May-11 at 19:07

MetPy takes advantage of the NumPy default __array_function__ interface for applying calculations to pint quantities (units!). This check became default as of NumPy 1.17 and was optional with the environment variable NUMPY_EXPERIMENTAL_ARRAY_FUNCTION=1 set in NumPy 1.16.

The quickest way for you to fix this would be to update NumPy to 1.17 or newer, but if you need NumPy<1.17 then set the above environment variable to get this working!
