Below is a screenshot of my current situation. Is it possible to make the text within the blob.svg white, and the text outside the blob.svg the color of the blob (#e60050)?

There is also a parallax effect on this particular element. The blob scrolls slower than the text. Therefore the text does not always overlap the blob in the same way/position. Based on the scrolling position, the text may even be completely within or without the blob.

I have been messing around with various implementations of mix-blend-mode now, but i can't seem to figure it out.

After upgrading to android 12, the application is not compiling. It shows

I'm not sure what you're using to code, but in order to set it in Android Studio, open the manifest of your project and under the "activity" section, put android:exported="true"(or false if that is what you prefer). I have attached an example.

I am working on submitting an R package to CRAN. Right now I am trying to reduce the memory footprint of the package. Because this package deals with spatial data that has a very particular format, I want to include a properly formatted shapefile as an example. If I include the full-size original shapefile, there are no warnings (other than file size) in the R CMD checks. However, if I crop the file and include the cropped version in the package (in "inst/extdata") I get this warning:

This is a known issue[1] where file will mis-identify DBF files with last-update date in the year 2022. Easiest fix is to not use a 2022 update date when saving the file. Alternatively you can simply change the second byte of the file after the fact, e.g.:

This worked fine for me be building under Java 8. Now under Java 17.01 I get this when I do mvn deploy.

mvn install works fine. I tried 3.6.3 and 3.8.4 and updated (I think) all my plugins to the newest versions.

Any ideas?

This is actually a known bug, which is now open for quite a while: OSSRH-66257. There are two known workarounds:

1. Open Modules

Here's a remake in pure JavaScript.
Basically what it uses is:

a small utility function EL() to query the DOM for elements
.addEventListener() instead of jQuery .on() and .click() methods
.cloneNode() method to clone elements with the true argument
.classList.toggle() method instead of jQuery's .toggleClass()

I would like to extract the unit of measurement (decimal degrees, metres, feet, etc.) from a spatial object in R. For example, if I have an SF data frame that uses the WGS84 co-ordinate reference system (EPSG:4326), I would like to be able to determine that the co-ordinates are specified in decimal degrees. Similarly, I'd like to be able to determine that UTM co-ordinates (e.g. EPSG:32615) are specified in metres.

I have tried using the st_crs() function from the sf package, which returns the co-ordinate reference system in well-known text format. However, I'm struggling to be certain that a regex that extracts the unit of measurement from that well-known text will operate reliably for a wide range of co-ordinate systems.

Is there an existing function that returns the measurement unit for a spatial object?

For example, the following code produces an SF data frame that uses the WGS84 co-ordinate system:

We have a JavaFX based application which is not modularized (there are reasons, a legacy library is involved) but we build an custom runtime using jdeps and jlink.

We've recently rewritten the app and added a couple of new dependencies, as well as removing others. Now the script that is building the application suddenly stopped working during the jdeps call.

Note: This is happening on Linux – I've yet to test other OS'ses, but I don't expect another result.

Update: These issues have been fixed, and a patched version of jdeps is available as part of the early access build for JDK 18 at: http://jdk.java.net/18/ (starting from build 26)

Turning my comments into an answer. There seem to be 3 bugs going on here:

The MultiReleaseException seems to be because jdeps can not handle classes in different jars that have the same name, such as module-info.class, but are stored in a different META-INF/versions/xxx directory. (JDK-8277165)
The fact that this exception is sometimes suddenly not occuring seems to be the result of a race condition in the code that checks for the above; classes of the same name having multiple versions. (JDK-8277166)
The MultiReleaseException is missing it's exception message since it's thrown as part of an asynchronous task, which wraps it in an ExecutionException, which then leads to jdeps not reporting the exception correctly. (JDK-8277123)

As for a workaround, I don't think there's a good one at this point, except maybe for editing all the jars on the class path so that they put the module-info.class in the same META-INF/versions/xxx directory (but, this might have other consequences as well, so you probably don't want to run with the edited jars, and only use them for jdeps).
