kandi X-RAY | contact Summary
Contact is a Ruby on Rails app designed to server newsletters and mass mailouts. This is actually a proper version of a mailer I made on Rails 1.2.x which needs a rewrite and update. Thought I would do it properly and let anyone else who is interested in on the fun. Contact’s purpose is to allow you to send out emails to a mailing list without having to use the commercial email companies. Much like PHPList’s purpose, it has the advantages of being on Rails and Ruby, making it extensible, and easy. If you have suggestions, feel free to email me at raasdnil@gmail.com, or visit the contact github site: and fork and code or just submit patches.

QUESTION
I'm facing a critical issue right now in Romania. So for almost 24 hours my mobile app which is using Firebase Realtime Database can't be used on some ISPs (like Vodafone, DIGI or Telekom) if you are using mobile data (4G or 5G) the app is working fine, but on Wi-fi (on these ISPs the app is getting timeout). I talked like several hours on the phone with multiple ISPs and the Firebase support (right now the app is working using DIGI, but nobody knows why). The ISPs are saying that problem is not on their end and Firebase is saying that the problem is on the ISP side. Firebase support answer:
As this has been caused by network issues, rather than Google's infrastructure, we can't do much about it from our end. I would recommend that you contact the ISP provider directly as they will be able to check deeper on their side.
As far as we can see, the multiple providers are affected by that issue. Our engineering team is already aware of that and looking for solutions. Like I said before, there is nothing we could do with the providers, but our engineers would find any suitable workaround.
So my question is: what can I do? (I saw that Firebase realtime database deployed in europe-west works) but mine is already on united states.
Is there someone having troubles like me? I tested multiple apps which I know are using Firebase and they are having the same issues, the app being unreachable over this type of network.
So the problem is regarding Ukraine and Russia :(. Many apps using Firebase Realtime Database are not working right now.
Below I posted a fix for this and how I handled in order to make my app functional again
...ANSWER
Answered 2022-Mar-29 at 13:21So for someone who is in Europe and has the same issue like me, this is what i did.
I made a new instance of a realtime database on europe-west (because this one works on every ISP). I migrated my old database to the new one. I pushed for release a new iOS and Android build using the new database. I disabled my old instance in order to not have any syncing problems. I made all of this at night hours like 24:00.
I the morning all users would have the new update. If someone is not going to have the update until 10 AM I have set a push notification to announce this changes.
QUESTION
I am trying to run Oracle db in docker on M1 Mac. I have tried images from both store/oracle/database-enterprise:12.2.0.1-slim
and container-registry.oracle.com/database/enterprise:12.2.0.1-slim
but getting the same error.
docker run -d -it --name oracle -v $(pwd)/db/oradata:/ORCL store/oracle/database-enterprise:12.2.0.1-slim
I also tried non-slim version and by providing the --platform linux/amd64
to the docker command. Result is same.
Here's the result of docker logs -f oracle
ANSWER
Answered 2021-Aug-04 at 20:48There are two issues here:
- Oracle Database is not supported on ARM processors, only Intel. See here: https://github.com/oracle/docker-images/issues/1814
- Oracle Database Docker images are only supported with Oracle Linux 7 or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 as the host OS. See here: https://github.com/oracle/docker-images/tree/main/OracleDatabase/SingleInstance
Oracle Database ... is supported for Oracle Linux 7 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7. For more details please see My Oracle Support note: Oracle Support for Database Running on Docker (Doc ID 2216342.1)
The referenced My Oracle Support Doc ID goes on to say that the database binaries in their Docker image are built specifically for Oracle Linux hosts, and will also work on Red Hat. That's it.
Because Docker provides process level virtualization it still pulls kernel and other OS libraries from the underlying host OS. A Docker image built for Oracle Linux needs an Oracle Linux host; it doesn't bring the Oracle Linux OS with it. Only Oracle Linux or Red Hat Linux are supported for any Oracle database Linux installation, with or without Docker. Ubuntu, Mac OS, Debian, or any other *NIX flavor will not provide predictable reliable results, even if it is hacked into working or the processes appear to work normally.

Linux being what it is (flexible), lots of people have gotten the images to run on other flavors like Ubuntu with a bit of creativity, but only on x86 processors and even then the results are not guaranteed by Oracle: you won't be able to get support or practical advice when (and it's always when, not if in IT) things don't work as expected. You might not even be able to tell when things aren't working as they should. This is a case where creativity is not particularly rewarded; if you want it to work and get meaningful help, my advice is to use the supported hardware architecture and operating system version. Anything else is a complete gamble.
QUESTION
Haskell typeclasses often come with laws; for instance, instances of Monoid
are expected to observe that x <> mempty = mempty <> x = x
.
Typeclass laws are often written with single-equals (=
) rather than double-equals (==
). This suggests that the notion of equality used in typeclass laws is something other than that of Eq
(which makes sense, since Eq
is not a superclass of Monoid
)
Searching around, I was unable to find any authoritative statement on the meaning of =
in typeclass laws. For instance:
- The Haskell 2010 report does not even contain the word "law" in it
- Speaking with other Haskell users, most people seem to believe that
=
usually means extensional equality or substitution but is fundamentally context-dependent. Nobody provided any authoritative source for this claim. - The Haskell wiki article on monad laws states that
=
is extensional, but, again, fails to provide a source, and I wasn't able to track down any way to contact the author of the relevant edit.
The question, then: Is there any authoritative source on or standard for the semantics for =
in typeclass laws? If so, what is it? Additionally, are there examples where the intended meaning of =
is particularly exotic?
(As a side note, treating =
extensionally can get tricky. For instance, there is a Monoid (IO a)
instance, but it's not really clear what extensional equality of IO
values looks like.)
ANSWER
Answered 2022-Feb-24 at 22:30Typeclass laws are not part of the Haskell language, so they are not subject to the same kind of language-theoretic semantic analysis as the language itself.
Instead, these laws are typically presented as an informal mathematical notation. Most presentations do not need a more detailed mathematical exposition, so they do not provide one.

I'm trying to develop a simple Django app of a contact form and a thanks page. I'm not using Django 'admin' at all; no database, either. Django 3.2.12. I'm working on localhost using python manage.py runserver
I can't get the actual form to display at http://127.0.0.1:8000/contact/contact
; all I see is the submit button from /contact/contactform/templates/contact.html

Static files load OK: http://127.0.0.1:8000/static/css/bootstrap.css
The thanks.html page loads OK: http://127.0.0.1:8000/contact/thanks
This is the directory structure:

does not display as you are not passing it into your template. You can do this instead in the contact

Answered 2021-Aug-04 at 09:18I'm not sure what you're using to code, but in order to set it in Android Studio, open the manifest of your project and under the "activity" section, put android:exported="true"(or false if that is what you prefer). I have attached an example.
QUESTION
When switching from Glue 2.0 to 3.0, which means also switching from Spark 2.4 to 3.1.1, my jobs start to fail when processing timestamps prior to 1900 with this error:
...ANSWER
Answered 2022-Feb-10 at 13:45I made it work by setting --conf
to spark.sql.legacy.parquet.int96RebaseModeInRead=CORRECTED --conf spark.sql.legacy.parquet.int96RebaseModeInWrite=CORRECTED --conf spark.sql.legacy.parquet.datetimeRebaseModeInRead=CORRECTED --conf spark.sql.legacy.parquet.datetimeRebaseModeInWrite=CORRECTED
.
This is a workaround though and Glue Dev team is working on a fix, although there is no ETA.
Also this is still very buggy. You can not call .show()
on a DynamicFrame
for example, you need to call it on a DataFrame
. Also all my jobs failed where I call data_frame.rdd.isEmpty()
, don't ask me why.
Update 24.11.2021: I reached out to the Glue Dev Team and they told me that this is the intended way of fixing it. There is a workaround that can be done inside of the script though:

i created a class to ask for permission immediately it get to login, it show on Android but on iOs i am not seeing any permission grant.
...ANSWER
Answered 2022-Feb-02 at 18:56The permission_handler package introduced a breaking change in version 8.0.0
, see changelog. Permissions on iOS are disabled by default, and you have the set the correct GCC_PREPROCESSOR_DEFINITIONS
in you Podfile. An example Podfile can be found here, but basically you have to add this to you Podfile, set the permissions that you don't use to 0

Answered 2022-Jan-11 at 02:41A developer added a "new American flag module" to colors.js library yesterday in version v1.4.44-liberty-2 that he then pushed to GitHub and npm. The infinite loop introduced in the code will keep running indefinitely; printing the gibberish non-ASCII character sequence endlessly on the console for any applications that use the library.
It stems from the winston logging dep requiring logform that in turn requires colors https://github.com/winstonjs/logform/blob/7e18114c6426e4b69a76b1d8a023c87801421677/package.json#L31
