QUESTION
I've been trying for a few hours now solve this problem and I looked everywhere for a solution and I did not find one. I'm trying to run a spec test for my project and I have the following error coming up:
...ANSWER
Answered 2021-Jan-14 at 14:33I managed to figure out a solution. Looking for the code for the Rghost, what I saw in its spec is that the path expected was different than the path the ghostscript really is. When I run whereis or which on my terminal, it returns:
QUESTION
We send a PDF directly to a label printer for printing. The printer has a cutter and will cut a continuous strip of label to the appropriate length, depending on the page size. In order to save label paper, we would like to reduce the length of each page to remove any whitespace, which varies on a per page basis. I can calculate the point at which to amend the page length to, but don't know how to then do it.
I'm using Ruby on Rails. I don't mind what library I use, but am already using imagemagick and rghost so either of those would be good.
...ANSWER
Answered 2019-Sep-30 at 20:15I tried to resize the pages assuming that each page has an image. I hope I understand correctly.
I used HexaPDF.
To run as a ruby project:
- mkdir foo
- cd foo
- bundle init
- Add
gem 'hexapdf'
to Gemfile - bundle
Create
amend.rb
file

Install rghost
On a UNIX-like operating system, using your system’s package manager is easiest. However, the packaged Ruby version may not be the newest one. There is also an installer for Windows. Managers help you to switch between multiple Ruby versions on your system. Installers can be used to install a specific or multiple Ruby versions. Please refer ruby-lang.org for more information.
