Components not included in Strapi api response
            Asked 2022-Mar-19 at 16:49

I decided today that I'm going to use Strapi as my headless CMS for my portfolio, I've bumped into some issues though, which I just seem to not be able to find a solution to online. Maybe I'm just too clueless to actually find the real issue.

I have set up a schema for my projects that will be stored in Strapi (everything done in the web), but I've had some issues with my custom components, and that is, they are not part of the API responses when I run it through Postman. (Not just empty keys but not included in the response at all). All other fields, that are not components, are filled out as expected.

At first I thought it might have to do with the permissions, but everything is enabled so it can't be that, I also tried looking into the API in the code, but that logging the answer there didn't include the components either.

Here is an image of some of the fields in the schema, but more importantly the components that are not included in the response.

So my question is, do I need to create some sort of a parser or anything in the project to be able to include these fields, or why are they not included?

I had the same problem and was able to fix it by adding populate=* to the end of the API endpoint.

The way your container is built doesn't add a user, so everything is done as root.

            You could create a user and install to that users's home directory by doing something like this;

I'm not sure what you're using to code, but in order to set it in Android Studio, open the manifest of your project and under the "activity" section, put android:exported="true"(or false if that is what you prefer). I have attached an example.

there are a few symptoms I would like to suggest looking into:

            1. There is a WARNING in your error log SetuptoolsDeprecationWarning: setup.py install is deprecated. Use build and pip and other standards-based tools. You have MANIFEST.in, setup.py and setup.cfg probably conflicting between them. Because setup.py is the build script for setuptools. It tells setuptools about your package (such as the name and version) as well as which code files to include. Also, An existing generated MANIFEST will be regenerated without sdist comparing its modification time to the one of MANIFEST.in or setup.py, as explained here.

Please refer to Building and Distributing Packages with Setuptools, also Configuring setup() using setup.cfg files and Quickstart for more information

            1. Maybe not so important, but another thing worth looking into is the fact that there are 2 different python distributions being used at different stages, as Python 3.10 is used at: Using pip 22.0.2 from $PREFIX/lib/python3.10/site-packages/pip (python 3.10) (it is also in your conda dependencies) and Python 3.8 is used at: File "/Users/jespinoz/anaconda3/lib/python3.8/site-packages/conda_build/tarcheck.py", line 53, in info_files raise Exception('info/files') which is where the error happens. So maybe another configuration conflict related to this.

As this blog by Brent Vatne says,

expo-permissions has been deprecated in favor of module-specific permissions methods You should migrate from using Permissions.askAsync and Permissions.getAsync to the permissions methods exported by modules that require the permissions.

For example: you should replace calls to Permissions.askAsync(Permissions.CAMERA) with Camera.requestPermissionsAsync()

There shouldn’t be two ways to do an identical thing in a single SDK, and so we picked our preferred approach and are consolidating around it.

So now, you will have to use Permissions from individual packages

            For Location,

            Firstly, install expo-location

The permission_handler package introduced a breaking change in version 8.0.0, see changelog. Permissions on iOS are disabled by default, and you have the set the correct GCC_PREPROCESSOR_DEFINITIONS in you Podfile. An example Podfile can be found here, but basically you have to add this to you Podfile, set the permissions that you don't use to 0:

            Jenkins Ambiguous Permission
            Asked 2022-Feb-01 at 14:15

After updating Jenkins, it is sending a warning for ambiguous permission for project base permission. I can migrate the entry to user or group manually, was wondering if there's an automate or batch way to do so?

            Warning Messages

Some permission assignments are ambiguous. It is recommended to update affected configurations to be unambiguous. See this overview page for a list of affected configurations.

This table contains rows with ambiguous entries. This means that they apply to both users and groups of the specified name. If the current security realm does not distinguish between user names and group names unambiguously, and if users can either choose their own user name or create new groups, this configuration may allow them to obtain greater permissions. It is recommended that all ambiguous entries are replaced with ones that are either explicitly a user or group.
