QUESTION
I have an sf object with a number of point locations. For each location, I want to generate isochrones with different parameters, using the openrouteservice-r package.
The object looks like so:

QUESTION
I am taking data with latitude, longitude, and a z value and interpolating it using a cubic method. The values seem to be saved in a numpy
array. Is there a way to save the interpolated results to a pandas
dataframe? I'm trying to save it with a longitude, latitude, and z value column for the interpolated result.
The input file can be found here and is called nutrition.csv. Here is what I have done so far:

QUESTION
I have a large .tiff file (4.4gB, 79530 x 54980 values) with 1 band. Since only 16% of the values are valid, I was thinking it's better to import the file as sparse matrix, to save RAM. When I first open it as np.array
and then transform it into a sparse matrix using csr_matrix()
, my kernel already crashes. See code below.
ANSWER
Answered 2022-Mar-18 at 17:03Assuming you know size of your matrix, you can create an empty sparse matrix, and then set only valid values one-by-one.
QUESTION
I have generated an interpolation map using the scipy.interpolate
module. I am needing some help saving the map as a .tiff
file and saving it to my directory. However, I'm not sure if I need to convert it to a numpy array or not, as it needs to have the latitude, longitude, and the interpolated data in each cell. Any help would be much appreciated!
Here is the data. The nutrition.csv
file can be found here.
ANSWER
Answered 2022-Mar-16 at 20:18So this is the follow up of your question that I answered earlier. To save an array to a geotiff you need to determine the geotransform, which means you need to know the coordinates of the upper left corner of your array and the resolution in x and y.
For your data it might work like this:
QUESTION
I'm trying to pip install geopandas
as a fresh installation, so I want to remove existing packages like GDAL
and fiona
. I've already managed to pip uninstall fiona
, but when I try to uninstall or reinstall GDAL
it gives the following error message:

Answered 2022-Mar-10 at 01:12I just came across this question after getting the same error. Coincidentally I had just upgraded pip (I was getting tired of the yellow warnings).
All I had was to down grade my pip
QUESTION
I have a spatial grid of dimension 72 col × 24 rows. For this question, I tried to create a small polygon grid (3×3) which I hope you can run in your PC too.
As you can see it is a 3×3 grid, however the numbering of the grid cell starts from bottom left of the last row towards bottom right & again continues from left side of the middle row towards right.

QUESTION
In a web map application, I am trying to render a GeoTIFF file as an overlay layer on a OSM layer using OpenLayers 6. The layer is rendered on the exact location and it seems fine. Here is the screenshot of my results:
But if I zoom in, in some areas I could see smooth (simplified) edges which is not what I want:

QUESTION
I am using this Dockerfile to deploy to App Engine Flexible environment.
...ANSWER
Answered 2022-Jan-21 at 22:21According to Google's documentation, you also need to add a Dockerfile in the same directory that contains the app.yaml
file. For building Python containers, Google provides this base image:
The Python runtime has Python 2.7.9 and Python 3.7.2 pre-installed. You can customize the Dockerfile to install other versions or alternative interpreters if needed. You can specify whether to use Python 2 or Python 3 in your application's Dockerfile when creating the virtual environment:
Python 3RUN venv /env -p python3.7
Python 2 (implicit)RUN virtualenv /env
Python 2 (explicit)RUN virtualenv /env -p python2.7
Here is some more information regarding Python Runtime, App Engine flexible environment, Python 3 Runtime Environment.

Answered 2022-Jan-28 at 11:12The only GDAL I made work on Windows 10 was from the Unofficial Windows Binaries for Python Extension Packages by Christoph Gohlke Here
Just for curiosity the GeoPandas project also recommend that unofficial repository for Windows.
