Kubernetes Probes - What is the order in which they examine the pod?
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 16:06

looking to understand the order in which kubenetes examine the pods using the 3 type of probes- startup, readiness and live.

How to understand or design these 3 probes correctly for normal applications? What is the chance of getting conflict or breaking the application if the startup probe has wrong entries

            ...

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 16:06
            Startup probe

This runs first. When it succeeds, the Readiness Probe and Liveness Probe are run continuously. If this fails, the container is killed.

Use this for "slow staring apps", you can use the same command as Liveness if you want.

The kubelet uses startup probes to know when a container application has started. If such a probe is configured, it disables liveness and readiness checks until it succeeds, making sure those probes don't interfere with the application startup. This can be used to adopt liveness checks on slow starting containers, avoiding them getting killed by the kubelet before they are up and running.

            From configuring probes

            Liveness probe

This is used to kill the container, in case of a deadlock in the application.

            Readiness probe

This is used to check that the container can receive traffic.

Please try to have more details in your questions, an example of what the framework is, I have published previously a framework in IoT Emergency System that was based on a disaster. The Doc will help you research your topic better as it is based on a framework design, a prototype is developed using an RFID access control and a drone system. We also incorporate design specifications that minimize the risk of data and privacy breaches. DOI

Security concern of using Firebase ID tokens for authentication on my custom backend
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 15:02

I want to use firebase auth for my android and ios applications with custom backend. So I need some way of authentication for api calls from mobile apps to the backend.

I was able to find following guide in firebase documentation which suggests to sent firebase id token to my backend and validate it there with firebase Admin SDK. https://firebase.google.com/docs/auth/admin/verify-id-tokens

But this approach does not seem to be a security best practice. For example here https://auth0.com/blog/why-should-use-accesstokens-to-secure-an-api/ it is said that for API access one should use access tokens rather than id tokens.

Are there any good pattern for using firebase auth with my backend?

            firebaser here

Firebase itself passes the ID token with each request, and then uses that on the server to identify the user and to determine whether they're authorized to perform the operation. This is a common (I'd even say idiomatic) approach to authentication and authorization, and if there's a security risk that you've identified in it, we'd love to hear about it on https://www.google.com/about/appsecurity/

From reading the blog post it seems the author is making a distinction between authentication (the user proving their identify) and authorization (them getting access to certain resources based on that identity), but it'd probably be best to ask the author for more information on why that would preclude passing an ID token to identify the user.

Logout functionality is not working properly in SAP Cloud Foundry authentication with XSUAA
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 08:06

I'm trying to implement authentication using XSUAA. I can able login with my SAP CF credential and login is working fine. The problem is with logout.

When I try to logout, it gets redirect to the logout page but the session is not cleared. After logout when I try to hit the url, instead of login page, it's redirecting to the index page.

I followed the official document Authentication check with Node.js and AppRouter but still I'm unable to fix this issue.

            These are my configuration files.

The SAP IAS Tenant was configured with OpenID connect. For some reason, logout functionality is not working with OpenID Connect and there is not clear document on this. Once switched from OpenID Connect to SAML, logout functionality is working fine. This is a work around and may not be an actual solution. It's an issue with SAP CF. They have to solve it.

This Blog will help you configure your IAS Tenant.

Note: Logout is not working with default identity provider too. And IAS Tenant is not available for trial accounts.

Angular and ASP.NET Core MVC: "Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token '<'" for index file references when deployed
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 06:41

I have an application using ASP.NET Core MVC and an Angular UI framework.

I can run the application in IIS Express Development Environment without issue. When I switch to the IIS Express Production environment or deploy to an IIS host, my index referenced files cannot be read showing a browser error:

            Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token '<'

These pages look like they are loading the index page as opposed to the .js or .css files.

Here is a snippet of the underlying runtime.js as it should be loaded into browser, it is not loaded with index.html.

react-navigation header collapse animation with Expo
            Asked 2021-Jun-14 at 15:34

I am investigating if the header in react-navigation can be animated similar to the most widely used social applications like Twitter, etc.

For this purpose recently, I encountered coinbase's example which is given here.

            My questions are:

            • In general, how the react-navigation header can be animated?
            • Specifically, how to blend the Coinbase example with the react-navigation?

Similarly, I could not find any clean example for react-navigation usage with react-navigation-collapsible either.

So any atomic example code is appreciated.
