            QUESTION

            Gulp 4: Exit properly
            Asked 2018-Jan-29 at 21:07

When executing my build task with gulp@next, it processes it fine, but it does not completely exit it somehow. It just stays hanging at [17:37:06] Finished 'build' after 2.22 s, for example. I then have to terminate it via ^C.

This proposes a problem for me, because I want to deploy my app via now.sh, which cleverly waits for npm run build to finish and exit before actually publishing it.

You can check out my gulpfile.jshere. It's fairly basic and simple. Did I maybe do something wrong? I know I had some time to figure out this "async task completion" thingy; does it have something to do with this?

I had the same problem in a different project context. In my case, during task development, I had been using bash to open build files in Atom after the build task completed. I had this overloaded require statement in gulpfile.coffee

            Install sample-node-app

Before you can build the app, you'll need to create an origin and accompanying keys. The quickest way to do this is by running hab setup as described in the Habitat docs and following the prompts:. Note: The origin name you use during setup will need to be specified in the plan.sh file mentioned in the next section.
