You are trying to access page_number from the class AmazonSpiderSpider inside the class itself. You are trying to do this with AmazonSpiderSpider.page_number, which will most certainly fail. What you were intending to do was probably access self.page_number.

The following should fix your issue:

Why does scrapy spider return no output when scraping amazon?
            Asked 2020-Sep-01 at 15:09

I was testing out the scrapy spider on the Amazon best-seller books pages (see URL below) but it returns weird price numbers or no output at all as you see in the output at the end (I only shared the output from 1 page). It might be something wrong with the css selectors but I am not sure. I would like the spider to save the output in the JSON file so I can quickly turn it into pandas dataframe for some analysis. This is the code I wrote in the terminal to run the spider: scrapy crawl amazon_booksUK -o somefilename.json

I know this is a lot to look through but if you have some time it would really help me out! :)

Python is it possible to store tuple coordinates in a nested dict and access a single coordinate from a single dict within the nested dict?
            Asked 2020-Aug-04 at 08:52

I have some code that uses a dict to store coordinate values. I would prefer to have something that had a key 'R1N1' and the value would be a tuple of the x and y coordinates but I don't know if that is possible in python or how you would index a key-tuple for either its x or y component:

            It seems that:

            1. Not all '.sg-col-inner' elements are valid, maybe '.s-result-list.s-search-results .sg-col-inner' is better selector.

            2. Not all elements have prices in the links. Maybe something like this selector is better: '.a-price-whole, br + .a-color-base'.
