Node Environment variable ignored by testing library

I'm implementing Testing Library with Puppeteer and I was trying to use an environment variable, DEBUG_PRINT_LIMIT, to limit the length of the HTML printed to console in case of failure.

But for some reasons, the variable environment is just ignored by the library...

proxying from containerized production react to containerized flask
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 16:20

I am trying to proxy requests from my containerized React application to my containerized Flask application.

I was starting the application using npm start (in Docker), and I did not have any issues proxying requests. However, I learned that npm start is not a good way to proceed in production.

Following the advice here: Run a React App in a Docker Container , I am able to start my containerized production React, but now the requests are not proxied.

Within the React app, all requests are handled with axios and are formatted: "/api/v1/endpoint". It seems that others have had issues between "http://localhost:80/api/v1/endpoint" and "/api/v1/endpoint". I do not believe this is my issue, unless it arises only in the production environment.

I have also tried changing my "proxy" address in package.json to the location of the dockerized flask container, and later to the name of the docker container, but I have not been able to make either solution work.

If anyone can provide guidance on launching a containerized, production React app that proxies requests to a backend container, please advise.

I am open to using a different server, if the procedures in "Run a React App in a Docker Container" need to be updated.

            I have looked these solutions:

How does Kotlin coroutines manage to schedule all coroutines on the main thread without block it?

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 14:51

This is exactly the reason why coroutines were invented and how they differ from threaded concurrency. Coroutines don't block, but suspend (well, they can do both). And "suspend" isn't just another name for "block". When they suspend (e.g. by invoking join()), they effectively free the thread that runs them, so it can do something else somewhere else. And yes, it sounds like something that is technically impossible, because we are in the middle of executing the code of some function and we have to wait there, but well... welcome to coroutines :-)

You can think of it as the function is being cut into two parts: before join() and after it. First part schedules the background operation and immediately returns. When background operation finishes, it schedules the second part on the main thread. This is not how coroutines works internally (functions aren't really cut, they create continuations), but this is how you can easily imagine them working if you are familiar with executors or event loops.

delay() is also a suspending function, so it frees the thread running it and schedules execution of the code below it after a specified duration.

            Regarding the error

I'm assuming you have missing dependencies on your code generation class path. Once you update your question, I'll update my answer.

Regarding jOOQ code generation support for @TypeDef etc.

jOOQ won't support your generated composite types in generated code out of the box, you'll still have to add forced type configurations for that, possibly embeddable type configurations:

Note that the JPADatabase offers a quick win by integrating with simple JPA defined schemas very quickly. It has its caveats. For best results, I recommend going DDL first (and generate both jOOQ code and JPA model from that), because it will be much easier to put your schema change management under version control, e.g. via Flyway or Liquibase.

Preventing phpunit from launching all functions

How to prevent phpunit from launching functions that I don't want?

            ANSWER

            Answered 2021-Jun-15 at 13:01

In tests you don't want to be using the constructor. Symfony will try to autowire service which you don't want because you want to be able to mock the secondary services.

To prevent this you remove the constructor and use the setUp function instead. PHPUnit works in such a way that the setUp function will always run before each test. So in here you would instantiate the service(class) you are testing.

A simple setUp function looks like this:

GStreamer C library not working properly on Xubuntu
            Asked 2021-Jun-15 at 11:39

I am writing a program in C language using gtk3 library. I want it to be able to receive a h264 video stream from a certain IP address (localhost) and UDP/RTP PORT (5000).

In order to do it, I am using gstreamer to both stream and receive the video.

I managed to stream the video using the following pipeline :

            send.sh :

            gst-launch-1.0 filesrc location=sample-mp4-file.mp4 ! decodebin ! x264enc ! 'video/x-h264, stream-format=(string)byte-stream' ! h264parse ! rtph264p

I managed to display the video in a new window using the following pipeline :

            receive.sh :

            gst-launch-1.0 udpsrc port=5000 caps="application/x-rtp,encoding-name=H264" ! rtph264depay ! decodebin ! videoconvert ! autovideosink

In my opinion, the CORE_VM_DOCKER_HOSTCONFIG_NETWORKMODE setting seems to be wrong.
you can check docker-compose.yaml or core.yaml

            1. docker-compose.yaml
            • I will explain fabric-samples/test-network as targeting according to your current situation.
            • You can check in CORE_VM_DOCKER_HOSTCONFIG_NETWORKMODE in docker-compose.yaml
            • Perhaps in your case(fabric-samples/test-network), the value of ${COMPOSE_PROJECT_NAME} was not set properly, so it was set to _test.
            • Make sure the value is set correctly and change it to your network name.

As per documentation, SpringApplication converts any command line option arguments (that is, arguments starting with --, such as --server.port=9000) to a property and adds them to the Spring Environment.

-D works when running via maven. Try: java -jar application.jar --spring.config.location=file:///C://your//path//config.yml.

            Via maven: mvn spring-boot:run -Dspring.config.location="file:///C://your//path//config.yml"
